Oh DH...

Here's a tidbit of a text message conversation DH and I had this morning.  He still doesn't get it after 1 1/2 years!  Maybe TMI lol

Me:  This is going to be the logest 2 weeks!  Lol

DH:  Why?

Me:  Cuz...after listenging to you about how the doctor is hopeful we won't need any help. lol

DH:  You really think having sex twice is gonna do it?

Me:  It's the timing.  We had good timing.

Me:  It only takes once!  Lol

DH:  Oooookkk...

Really DH??  You should know that it only takes one time!  Now mind you - we hit -1 & +1 this cycle (pending FF giving me crosshairs for Saturday).  But it's totally a lost cause trying to explain to DH all that.  He's one that likes to believe what he wants.  All the scientific research that I could point out means nothing.  Back when I was gung-ho about losing weight...I was talking to him about having to eat a certain amount of calories, blah blah blah.  His response?  If you want to lose weight, eat less, work out more.  Gah!

Re: Oh DH...

  • Your DH and mine are cut from the same cloth. It's basically ...

DH: So we should just do it twice a day and then we'll for sure get pregnant.

I don't get man logic. H thinks that no matter where I am in my cycle there is a chance to get knocked up. I'm not sure if he says that to feel better because I tell him what days we need to BD.

Haha, it's funny how mine's come around and learning all about that stuff.  He is very into knowing our timing and making sure we make the most of our days.  Usually he's the one that has to talk me into it "Well, that test had a little bit of a line, so it should be positive soon, which means we should start tonight."

I think he's just really hopeful for it to work without doctors, that he's extra involved in the natural cycles.

    But athlete, nice crosshairs!  FX!

  • Thanks @ky19!  I was pretty excited.  LOL.  I go back to the RE today to have my progesterone tested to see if it's increased from the cycle before the lap.  I'm trying not to get too hopeful.  Easier said than done!

I was going to ask you if you were getting your progesterone checked, because of the short cycles.  Good luck!!

  • When we started TTC in 2012 we'd do it and DH would ask "do you feel pregnant" after lol  Oh, men...

  • @Curls218, that reminds me of my husband. Before we started TTC, I told him I was worried about my cycles being long when I came off BCP (as that was what happened to me in the past). He was convinced his "super sperm" would "knock an egg loose".
