Please think of me tomorrow

Please keep Logan and I in your thoughts tomorrow.  He has to have surgery tomorrow morning.

When he was born they attempted to do his circumcision, but couldn't because the OB thought he had something called Hypospadias....basically the hole isn't exactly where it belongs.  We saw a urologist when he was 5 days old who doesn't think he has it, but couldn't be positive because the OB put a stitch in. The procedure to fix it and circumcise him couldn't be done until he was at least 6 months old because circumcision can only be attempted once in the neonatal period.

So tomorrow he will have the surgery.  I'm a nervous wreck.  I wish they would sedate me before sedating and intubating him.  And trying to figure out how to explain to my 6 month old that he is NPO should be fun.  So if you would please keep him in your thoughts tomorrow, I'd appreciate it!

  • Awww...poor Logan (and mommy). Thoughts and prayers for you guys tomorrow. Keep us updated! And what does NPO mean?

  • @philaphan someone offered me one...if I didn't want to breastfeed him as soon as I possibly can after I would have considered taking it!

@klm42404 ooops, sorry, I often forget that not everyone speaks hospital lingo.  Its mean nothing by mouth...so he can have breastmilk up to 4 hours before surgery and clear liquids up to 2 hours before.  So when my child wakes up starving tomorrow morning I'm sure my beautiful smile will be enough :/

  • I imagine that will be hard!!  what time is his surgery?

  • We have to be at AI at 745.  So no breastmilk after 345.  I plan on waking him up at 3am to feed him....debating waking him again around 5 to give him some water...and then hoping he's really tired and sleepy until after surgery!

  • Thank you ladies! He just went back, so now I'm just waiting for him to be done. He did so good in pre-op considering he hadn't eaten in 5 hours!
