Re: Thursday randoms

  • I have an eye exam today and I have a feeling that my eyes are getting worse and I'll be forced to get new glasses.  Things have been blurry and I've had more headaches recently.  It's hard getting old.
    :-S

I wish Jenny McCarthy would just go away.

I am sooooo excited for Scandal tonight, it just needs to be 10pm already!!!

Casey has Friday, Saturday, and Sunday off this week. Next week he switches to a regular Monday-Friday schedule. Neither of us realized the schedule was going to switch. I'm so grateful. I took tomorrow off too. It's been over a month since we've had a weekend.

Fargo premiered on FX on Tuesday night and I haven't watched it yet, but I'm really excited to.

I'm having a hard time finding G swim trunks that I like. I'm not into hibiscus flowers and surfboards. Last year I found him a few cute pairs (monsters, rockets, skulls).

I made those pinterest chicken pot pie cupcakes. They were really delicious but do not re-heat well at all. I made two pans of them. Whoops.

  • Your post reminds me that I need to get an eye exam.  I don't wear glasses, but I feel like my vision is not as good as it used to be, especially at night when I'm driving.  I'm sure it will be another 6 months before I get around to making an appointment though.

I am addicted to Starburst jelly beans.

Ditto Jenny McCarthy.  The absolute stupidity and insanity that surronds the whole anti-vax argument is baffling and infuriating. Your Google MD/Gut Feeling/Opinion do not supercede FACTS, EVIDENCE, AND SCIENCE!!!!!  And if that offends you - sorry, not sorry.

Our backspash came in today, but they sent the wrong color.  So our never ending kitchen update continues to be never ending!

Why do people think that anyone cares about the color of their aura?

Land's End was having a sale on swimsuits - either 30% or 40% off.  They have the hibiscus/surfboard trunks, but they also had some plain, striped, and plaid trunks as well.

Today is also my Friday!  <:-P

I love our vet, but I am a bit perturbed right now. Our American Bulldog is on Previcox for arthritis. Last month, it was $2.37 a pill. Monday, it was $4.04 a pill. I thought the amount seemed high but I was on my lunch break and just paid. I called today and they were all, "oh, yeah it went up". A little warning would have been really appreciated. I asked if we could switch to Rimadyl and then I felt horrible because the girl says "I'll leave a message with the dr. to call you to find a different med since cost is an issue" :( Lady, I already spend $150 a month of food, so adding another $100 isn't going to break me, but I liked $35 a month a whole lot better!

  • My morning routine of being in the office includes grabbing my coffee mug to get filled at the Crazy mocha. Well for whatever reason this morning I went down with my water bottle in my hand and not my mug.  WTF.  That is a bad sign.  I can't even get coffee right.

I didn't take any time off for Easter, but am now sorta regretting it.  There may be a last minute Monday vacation day scheduled so I can recover from the busy weekend.

I have already eaten 2 servings of sweedish fish.  It doesn't look like a good day for calorie counting either. oops.

I made a mistake of looking at a boston terrier rescue page and saw the most darling little girl pup and I must not go there anymore. I do not need another dog. I do not need another dog...
  • Friday for me as well - cannot wait to get the heck out of here!

My kid threw a lovely tantrum as we were checking out at Target last night. The cashier did the silent judg-y look in between all of her attempts to get me to sign up for a red card (no joke, she asked at least 4 times). 1) I know my kid is losing her shizz right now, but if you could just ring me up and get me on my way, then you wouldn't have to listen. So can your looks and get moving! 2) I said no politely to the first red card offer. Let's drop it there. I don't need a 'well you could have had the trifecta of savings if you'd have used coupons, your app AND the red card'.

I have to get blood work done at lunch and I'm not looking forward to it.

The eye doctor posts remind me I should get one soon as well. Joy.

Hubs was supposed to go to happy hour tonight, but his plans changed and now I get to go to the store alone. This totally makes my day :)

Don't do it! I will lend you Hank for a while and then you will remember why you don't want a young dog. I hoping his neutering will help. I really am not feeling bad since he has been being on my office chair.

  • I almost poured rice krispies into the toaster this morning.  What has become of my brain?

Well, she is 5. So not really a puppy. But still a BT :)
  • Well, me and my funky dilated eyes are back from my exam.  The good news: my eyes haven't changed.  The bad news: I have some type of advanced blurriness in my eyes.  Advanced didn't seem to mean "well ahead of the curve, good for you!" as I thought, but more "your eyes are aging faster than average for someone your age"  He suggested I wear my glasses more often (even though I wear them pretty much all the time if I'm in front of my computer)

I said, "sooooo....what you're telling me is basically that I'm getting old fast?"

  • not you Emmy, just your eyes.
    B-)
  • The snow the other day was the last straw for my poor body, which was going crazy from allergies & boo now I have a respiratory infection!

On the happy side we did a vanity switch out (it took 3 weekends because we found issues with the electric and wall once we pulled the old vanity out and had to fix the issues).  Hubby put the drawer pulls on last night and we now have part 1 of a bathroom remodel done.  Now on to a new tub, tile flooring and toilet.  It is already a huge improvement!
