I really wish I reread the first two books before diving into Dreams of Gods and Monsters.

What is the significance of Karou/Akiva sharing a blanket?

I am still confused about Eliza/Elazael. If we're to believe the Fallen were abused as badly as Razgut when they were thrown from Meliz, how did Elazael procreate? Razgut is a giant lump of ugly with broken legs and torn wings. If no one would touch him, how did Elazael overcome?

Why was Festival's fate to bring Akiva into existence?

I had the same questions too - specially about Razgut vs. Elazael. I'm hoping someone who did a re-read before this book can answer them.

I don't think there was any special significance, other than that happened to be how he framed his dream of having a normal life with her, just like she kept referring to having cake? I could have missed something though.

She was a woman? Who knows how it happened (or necessarily even that it happened after she was Fallen - they were given that "procreate" directive right off the bat) - it could easily have been rape or some other advantage taken of a crippled, helpless woman. For some reason I guess I didn't question the mechanics.

Why was Festival's fate to bring Akiva into existence?
To save the world He was still the one with the power to hold back/reinforce the veil, and that was the whole mission he went back to the Far Isles for. Obviously moving forward we don't know how all that's going to go down (which I kind of love and kind of hate), but we do know Akiva is the key.

By going to Joram and making Akiva into a Misbegotten, she also planted someone who would bring him (and Jael) down, opening the way to peace for them to focus on defeating the darkness/monsters/whatever. The Stelians weren't exactly into the idea of going to take care of that themselves - by "giving" the Seraphim Akiva, Festival basically put that in motion.

I don't think the blanket idea came up before the last book.

Good question on Elazael- I never really thought about that. I guess I figured she might have been on Earth and procreated before her fall?

Good point about procreating before she became Fallen. For some reason, I didn't think Elazael was in contact with Earth before she was thrown into it as a Fallen. I thought she was exploring other universes (not sure why I thought that though...)

If Elazael and Razgut were part of the same team of Faerers with linked animas, I guess I was curious why Razgut wasn't aware of Eliza's "reactivation"? Why didn't he try to track her down if his greatest undying wish was to go home and she knew of another portal?

Maybe I still don't understand Akiva's power. He is able to take sirithar without tithing, which no one else is able to do. Does this somehow make him better at reinforcing the veil than other Stelians? Is he supposed to be the key to holding back the nephilim?

I feel like I should explain my confusion with Eliza a bit more.

If the four remaining Fallen were thrown into four different portals from Eretz to Earth, why was Eliza the only descendant of these four Fallen? Why weren't there others with the same Fallen memories who could help the godstars?

There definitely could have been. Remember that the ONLY reason Eliza snapped out of it and became lucid enough to actually make sense of all her memories was because Mik and Zuzana used a Gavriel to wish it. She explains it to them after - that everyone else (from her bloodline, though this would apply to any offspring of any Fallens) just kind of lost their minds if they actually got close enough to the buried memories to touch them.

And yes, in theory Akiva should be much, much better at strengthening the veil than anyone else - that's the implication anyway, because he can do it without tithing.

Eliza was still her own person with her own "anima" or whatever - she wasn't a reincarnation of Elazael, just a descendent, but with the passed-down memories. I don't think that would make Razgut aware of her.

I think she hadn't been to earth before - her team had gone in the other direction, than raced back ahead of the beasts.

Oh, great point about Mik/Zuze wishing her to sanity. I guess we wouldn't know about the other Fallen progeny if they're locked away in the nut house.
