Relationship Books Anyone?

Hi Ladies!<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

I really like to read self-help books especially ones that empower women and relationships, but I have not been able to come across a good relationship advice book in quite some time. Most of the books seem to focus on the single ladies and how to get that great guy but don't spend much time on how to retain that great relationship, how to work on relationship issues, how to not lose yourself in a relationship. Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

Re: Relationship Books Anyone?

  • I come from the school that says treat the person you date the same way you'd like yourself to be treated, always trust your gut and when a relationship is bad, it's bad and don't fish where the fishin' ain't good.

Most of these authors that offer dating advice are on a second spouse, anyway --- kinda ironic.
  • Mmm....what about the five love languages?
  • I think for all self-help books you read and choose what actually applies to you.
When DH and I were getting married we were recommended The Five Love Languages by Chapman, His Needs, Her Needs by Harley, Love and Respect by Emerson. You read each and take with 'a pinch of salt' Just take what you think applies to you and your person since people are different. Getting advice is however very helpful atleast to keep from making the mistakes that other people have made.
