GTKY: Sick

Do you get sick often? What about your H?

Re: GTKY: Sick

  • I rarely get sick, but when I do, I don't do it halfway.  Last illness almost got me admitted to the hospital.  I chalk it up to years of pediatric nursing and being up to my elbows in kid germs on a daily basis.

Michael is immunosuppressed from his one medication, we do everything in our power to keep him from getting sick as it takes forever for him to bounce back, but he always seems to pick up the dreaded man cold that turns him into a whiny man child.  Thankfully it usually doesn't last long.

  • Since December i've had one cold... and it kicked my ass because i was pregnant and couldn't take anything and i'm a big believer in better life through chemicals when i'm sick... i take cold pills.. i'm not ashamed! lol I've been relatively healthy lately *knock on wood* especially because everyone around me has been sick!

Hubby usually gets a cold or two a year, and much like @Kushie77 said it turns him into a giant man child who can't get off the couch and whines and complains, but he won't take anything.. he'd rather sit there and suffer. I hate it when he's sick. Plus he snores worse than he already does, so it usually ends up with me sleeping in our spare bedroom downstairs.

  • We do not get sick to much. But when we moved to FL this past year adapting to a new environment we where sick a lot! I think we each got a few colds and we both got the flu this year..Hopefully this coming year we will be more adapted and won't get sick as much as we did.

  • I have always had allergy problems so every time the climate changes I get sick with something. Other than that I stick to my daily issues.

H never gets sick! He does have mild allergies so maybe once a year do they give him problems. He had the flu once a few years ago but that's been about it.
  • I usually get super sick once a year with a stomach bug or a flu/ear infection combo. Then I might get a cold or two, but they're no big deal.

H gets sick maybe once a year? And I have to admit, he's usually not too big of a baby.

  • I have allergy and sinus issues pretty regularly but I rarely get sick. I caught a stomach bug in January, right after H's birthday, and I haven't been able to eat steak salad since. I was knocked out all day the day of and only went back to work because I HAD to but I should have stayed home the next 2 days.

H caught the same stomach bug but he was able to go to work and everything. Jerk :)

He does turn into the ugly man child when he gets a cold... which happens ALL.THE.TIME!!! I am actually convinced it is in his head.

  • I have migraines and vertigo so there are many days I'm not feeling great H rarely gets sick but when he does man child comes out lol

  • Neither my husband or I get sick often. I have allergies, but they are manageable. I rarely call in sick for work. My sick time is usually used for appointments. Over Christmas break 2012 I did get a nasty sore throat and cold. Of ccourse it was while I was at the in-laws, which made it that much worse.

  • I get sick a lot! I must have the worst immune system ever! DH rarely gets sick, but when he has so much as a slight headache he acts as if the world is going to end and he couldn't possibly get out of bed.
  • I get sick kind of a lot, too. I get bronchitis once a year and usually lose my voice really bad. I get cold/flu symptoms probably once every two months, but *knock on wood* this year I haven't been sick for about 4 or 5 months. And I never know at what point am I too sick to go to work, so I usually keep showing up until somebody says, "eww, go home."
