Reading Lottery: "Serena" by Ron Rash

Today I finished my reading lottery match up suggested by jkfranklin.  It is the first book that I have finished in about a month and a half, unsure if I haven't gotten into the mood of the books I have tried or just haven't had much time, anyways onto the book :).  I enjoyed this book quite a bit.  I have been reading a lot of historical fiction but I have never read one based on the logging industry and the push for National parks.  I think that Serena has quite the personality that would be frowned upon during that era and usually I don't link book to movie, but I am interested in seeing this one.

  • I LOVED this book!!!  She was so ruthless...  I'm sure JLaw will be great in this role!
  • I'm glad  to hear other people enjoyed it. It was a different kind of book, wasn't it? I really enjoyed it, but then, we're railroad nerds so reading about that stuff in action was really cool. I always wondered if people who didn't have that interest would like it. I guess so!

  • I loved that I was able to get a look at that time period in the industry other than the books about the Great Depression. I would be interested in reading more around this too :).
