  • It has been dying since "the change" two years ago. Now, this board and the rest of the forums on TN are effectively dead. I don't see things coming back, either.

I wish more and more that we would have jumped ship with the rest of tn.

  • GP has been dying for a long time. There is no depth here anymore. All of the regulars talk about are diets or TTC related things. I get that this is GP, but it used to be so much more. I find it hard to be supportive of people I barely "know"
  • GP is dead and boring as fuuuuck. I try to post GTKY posts and the occassional controversial topic but it's like crickets out there. I want to answer the questions instead of always thinking of themmmmmmmmmm.

Also, the way everyone has to be so PC and sickeningly sweet and gushy and I loooooooove you to every other person makes me want to throw up sugar.

  • As a newer person on GP, I'm curious to know what was so different 2 years ago? I keep hearing that TN changed something, but I'm confused as to what that had to do with what content was being posted on here. I'm guessing I'm missing something?

    This.

Yeah, it's not too incredibly active, but I know everyone has a life outside of GP.  While it's always fun when funny stuff is posted and awesome when a debate gets going, I plan on sticking around to learn as much as I can from the ladies left.  You guys are pretty flippin' smart.  :)

  • The nest underwent a major format change and it was horrible and glitchy and the nest God's didn't seem to care how posters felt. So many people jumped ship and headed to an off board. They dynamic of most of the boards have changed drastically.

The boards will slowly come back, they will be different than before, but they Wil eventually be busy again.

But yes this place is dead compared to the olden days.

  • Yeah but its still way better than the Bump GP board. I ventured over there, (no idea what the hell I was thinking) and it seemed so impersonal and people were only posting to get information for themselves or AW themselves. Plus all the drive bys? Sickening. It might be slow over here, but Im not going anywhere unless everyone else does.

I dont post a whole lot because Im not very interesting, but Im here everyday and contribute when I can. But I will try to post more.

  • Should we start the GTKYs again since there are newbs?

  • I like that idea, @botanicalbliss.

  • @botanicalbliss I know I would do one, but last time I know at the end not everyone was a big fan so they stopped.

  • Yeah, back in the "good old days" the board would easily go through a couple pages of new posts a day. It was hoppin' and often hard to keep up! Like pps said, they changed the format to an AWFUL format and didn't listen to literally everyone saying how much they hated it. Everyone went over to ProBoards and then the nest decided to switch back to appease the masses. It was too late though. I'm pretty sure GP was the only board that stuck around (though quite a few regulars dropped off at that point I believe). Slowly, a few other boards have come back to life, but nothing even remotely close to what it used to be. It's quite sad really. Even a busy day on GP now would be considered super slow back then!

I think GTKY would be fun! I think a lot of people started to dislike it (myself included) because for awhile, it was the same people we'd already GTK :) Not that we didn't like them, but it was just repeat. Plus I didn't feel like sharing my crap with people who had already seen it. NOw though, there are so many newbies, I think it would go over well!

  • I definitely think a new round of GTKY would be fabulous - maybe we open it up to only those who haven't posted one before?
