WIAR: One Thousand White Women (ns)

Not sure what to think so far, on the one hand the book is fascinating and well written, on the other the main character is rubbing me the wrong way and I'm not sure yet if that is intentional or just the character.

  • I'm not sure I agree with you on the "well-written" part.  The MC definitely made me a little crazy in this one, but I honestly think it was the writing that made her come off that way.  She was not well-written.

  • Wasn't the MC supposed to be crazy?

This book had a ton of potential however, it didn't quite get there.

It's still early on, the failure in the writing may not have become apparent yet. Or I'm just passing it off as part of the style (letter/journal) and it's just not bothering me.
I really am liking the story but the MC is grating on me.

  • I liked this book. Such an interesting premise. I do know what you're talking about, though I can't quite describe it.
My favorite place on earth: The Amargosa Valley.
