I confess that I got obsessive about something I find gross. We went over to MIL's last night. She was cooking when I got there. We sat and talked to her while she cooked. I actually started counting how many times she licked her fingers vs washed her hands. The count was 12 finger licks to 0 hand washes. I only ate things I didn't see her touch with her fingers.
I further confess that finger lickers gross me out at work too. If I see someone sort my paperwork with a licked finger I will throw out the form, wash my hands and reprint. It just goes right through me.

It actually doesn't matter what she makes. Once she was cutting a cake and would touch it, cut, lick, turn, repeat. I ate no cake because she literally spit on every piece. Also last night she made a green bean casserole. When she dished her portion she plopped it on her plate, turned the serving spoon around, ran her finger down it, licked her finger, ran her finger down it again and then threw it back in the serving dish. I had no green bean casserole...

On the gross food topic, I have no idea how to have that convo w/ MIL but I've thought about it many times. She takes a lot of pride in her cooking and is seriously like the nicest person ever.
