Reading Lottery: Void Moon by Michael Connelly (ns)

I liked it.  I didn't love it but I thought it was well done.  I think my problem was that I didn't like Cassie as a character, though she did redeem herself at the end.

  • Oh, darn. I was hoping you'd love it, because it was my first Connelly book, and he's since become one of my top 3 authors of all time. I picked this one out of all his stuff because it's one of the few stand alone. His Bosch line is where he really shines, but I couldn't pick *one.* Lol. (He used to be a crime reporter, and Bosch is a homicide detective, so those books are all about his cases.)

I agree, Cassie was not a likeble character, in general, though I guess I could see where she was coming from, at times.

In other Reading Lottery news, I'm still waiting for my match to become available at the library. I've been #2 on the list since the day the matches were posted. Bastards.
  • I'd read something else by him so it wasn't a total loss!  I just didn't get why she would toss the chance that she'd been given away.  I still don't but then, I don't have that sort of mindset to start with.  I never got past that.

I don't think I really got the thing with Max right at the end either.

Just like Patricia Cornwell.  Have you read anything by her?

  • No!!! I haven't. Where's a good place to start?
  • Her Kay Scarpetta series is the best that she's done.  It starts with Postmortem.
