Read a book that takes place in a country you'd like to visit (not where you have lived or currently live) and post on NBC what your dream vacation itinerary there would be.

Australia! I've always wanted to go to Australia but never looked into it much because I just don't think it will ever happen. It was fun to read about Southwest Australia in this book because I've mostly heard about the east coast/Sydney/Melbourne/Brisbane. My itinerary would now include Perth (and other parts of SW Aussie land). I would also have to include the Sydney Harbour, the Great Barrier Reef, the Outback, rescued and well cared for animals in animal sanctuaries or wild on Safari, the rainforest and some good food and restaurants. I dont know much about what is good/special Down Under but I wouldnt want to miss out on something good.

I didn't especially enjoy this book so I'm glad it filled this category. Silver lining.

  • Sounds like a fun trip, I've always wanted to go to Australia.  The book has been on my TBR list forever, maybe I will remove it.

    my read shelf:
Jenn's book recommendations, liked quotes, book clubs, book trivia, book lists (read shelf)
  • I would love to go to Australia too. :)

I read this book and I actually enjoyed it. I didn't *love* it, but I liked it, probably a lot. It was really slow paced, which was what made me not fall in love with it. I usually enjoy books that make me never want to put them down with how much stuff is happening, and wondering what's going to happen. But I thought it was well written, and very poignant ... ok that makes it sound so, so boring. Lol.
  • Maybe I just wasn't in the right mood for this kind of book. I don't know. I really wanted to like it and I'm still trying to convince myself that it was better than I thought but I just cant get there. It came recommended by 2 friends in my book club and a completely unrelated friend gave it to me for Christmas so maybe it's just me...
  • We just read this book last month for my irl bookclub.  I thought it was a gigantic snoozefest.  I felt like it would NEVER end.

  • Yes, thank you for saying that. I don't feel as bad for not liking it now.
