Do you get paid every week or every other week? Which would you prefer?

Re: QOTD 4/25

  • I get paid bi-monthly also, on the 1st and 15th of the month. I think it helps keep our bills in check. H gets paid every other Thursday and it can be really frustrating to work with. But, it is nice when he gets three paycheck months, it's like a little bonus!

I'm with Evan, but I guess I would have to start buying lottery tickets to make it happen :)

  • I'm bi-weekly, it sucked when we were barely making it. Now it's ok and I love getting 3 pays 2 months a year.

H gets paid weekly. Which is nice.

  • DH and I are paid once a fortnight.  I don't mind it but when DH was paid weekly I feel like more money went into savings.

I would like to also agree with Evan.  I have a pool at work we buy powerball tickets every time the jackpot goes over $100 million.

  • All of my jobs have paid bi weekly, which was fine.  H's job also pays bi weekly and he'd rather that than yearly.  He's an environmental field technician and sometimes works overtime, for which he gets paid time and half.

  • Bi-monthly, the 15th and 30th. H gets paid every Friday. He starts his new job Monday, so im not sure what their pay periods will be. It works out fine for us, i plan to pay certain bills with my check and then the daily expenses with his check, etc.

  • Before my graduate school rudely cut off my stipend, I got paid twice a month (on the 15th and 30th). That always worked for me.

    H gets paid bi-weekly.

  • H and I are both bi-weekly. Weekly would be nice, but this works.

  • We are both every other week. I wish our payrolls were offset, but currently we both get paid on the same end of week (thurs for him, fri for me).

  • We both get paid weekly. I get paid on Fridays, DH on Mondays. It's nice that there are like 8 months where we have an extra week of pay for at least one of us.

Lottery would be best here as well!

  • We both get paid biweekly.  When he worked at his last job, it was biweekly but offset, so that was nice.  It doesn't make too much of a difference now because we have an outlined budget that shows every expense for the rest of the year and we have a set amount of "spending money" that we stick to, so the budget never really changes much unless there's a huge unexpected expense.

  • I get paid bi-weekly and H gets paid weekly. It works out nice since the big bills (utilities, cable/internet and truck payment) all come out on weeks we both get paid. And since our mortgage is weekly, it's nice not having to budget for two weeks at a time.

  • Every other week. It's usually not too much of an issue like that. I felt that I was worried about having money more when I was getting paid weekly because of how my bills fell.

  • I get paid bi-weekly. H gets paid on the 15th and the 30th of every month. It's nice, we always pay to mortgage with his paycheck from the 30th.

One of my CW's, her H gets paid once every 3 months, but he's a financial planner, so if you're good at you're job, it's not an issue!! haha.

  • We both get paid biweekly. Before I switched jobs last year we were paid on opposite weeks which was nice. Now he gets paid on Thursday and I'm Friday, with trying to save for baby it's a stretch by the end of the 2nd week :-)
  • I got paid on the 15th and last day of the month.  H gets paid on the 1st and 16th.  It works for us.
  • We get paid biweekly and since we work together, we are obviously on the same svhedule. Sometimes I think it would be nice to get paid opposite each other but that would mean one of us would have to change jobs.
