Book rec: OPEN ROAD SUMMER
If you guys enjoy well-written YA romance along the lines of ANNA AND THE FRENCH KISS and ELEANOR & PARK, I highly recommend OPEN ROAD SUMMER by Emery Lord.
It's about a girl who goes on a summer tour with her Taylor Swift-esque BFF and falls for her tour-mate, a guy from a Jonas Bros-esque family band who is branching out on his own. It has a fantastic female friendship, a sweet slow-burn romance, music, and travel. The writing is awesome, and I seriously hugged the book when I was done. I can't rave about it enough.
(Full disclosure, Emery is a friend of mine. But this would be one of my favorites of the year so far regardless. I'm so glad it's finally out so I can push it on everyone I know.)
