Who watched Game of Thrones last night?? ****SPOILERS****

I'm torn about the Sansa/Littlefinger scenes. I kind of like the blatant explanation of what went down, but a.) He already explained the necklace thing last week, and b.) I feel like the writers think we (as the audience) can't follow plots without explanation. That said, all the "whodunnit" buzz from the ASoIAF wiki and Reddit etc was answered/confirmed last night.

Tommen is so sweet. And Ser Pounce made an appearance! yay!

And Jaime is trying to get back in the audience's good graces after last week's incestuous rape at the sept scene. I thought it was sweet of him to hook Brienne up with some sweet swag to try and protect Sansa.

**(possible) book spoilers and some musings**

***are you sure you want to keep reading?***

Ok, that shit with Bran, Hodor, Meera and Jojen did not happen in the books, right? Not even a little bit of it... or am I losing my damn mind? I'm ok with them weaving Bran back into the main storyline though. And Lock was tasked  by Roose Bolton to find Bran and Rickon.... and then he volunteered for Jon's crew to raid Craster's Keep.... where Bran and crew is being held... OMG WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN!!!!??

And WTF WTF WTF WTF is with the white walkers?!?!?! Are we going to get POV scenes with them now, too? I've never thought of them as "people" per say... more like a force upon the folks of the realm. What do they do to the babies? Aren't wights dead? Does that mean they have dozens of baby wights from Craster? Or do they continue to grow? If they do, would it be possible that they are like the unsullied in that they are trained to fight since they learn to walk (That little tidbit was dropped in in the scene with all the slaves discussing Dany and her unsullied army in their dwelling in Mereen.) making them a freaking huge force to be reckoned with, seeing as they are both undead and trained to fight from the time they can walk? AAHHH

Re: Who watched Game of Thrones last night?? ****SPOILERS****

  • 1) I also don't like the blatant explanation of the poisoning. DH had it figured out right after it happened (with the exception if Little Finger's involvement). I don't think it was necessary to include all that, except to more obviously tie his allegiance back to House Tyrell.

    2) Yes, except for his taking Cersei in the sept, after Jamie gets his hand cut off, he's on much more of a moral upswing for quite a while. It's an interesting character twist.

    3) No, you are not nuts, Bran et all NEVER went to Craster's!! Not to mention Jon Snow never took a volunteer crew back out to Craster's after the mutiny. They were too busy dealing with wildling attacks! I'm not thrilled they're deviating the storyline there. Guess we'll have to see how it plays out next week (or the week after if they don't really focus on it next episode).

    4) Baby white walkers. WTF? With the exception of Cold Hands, there is zero white walker perspective in the books. We are never informed what becomes of all of Craster's baby boys. There is a distinction though, between the white walkers and wights (I hope I'm keeping my terms straight here). I'm not exactly sure what the distinction is, but the wights seem to be more along the lines of those who die up there in the north and come back; they're far more brutal and far less calculating. The white walkers (what I consider the leaders of the wights), are brutal and vicious, but they think rationally (or what is rationally to them). I got that much from reading about Cold Hands leading Sam and Gilly and then leading Bran et al.

Once more, I find myself thinking that I need to reread to remind myself of all these little details I've forgotten in the past year and a half since I finished book 5.

  • I can't coherently put into words all of my thoughts about last night's episode.

You all are definitely right about the changed storylines and additions.

Knowing that GRRM has worked closely with the producers/writers of the show and let them know how things develop in the end, I'm withholding judgment until I see how it all plays out.

True. This does make story changes a little easier to swallow, knowing they'll get to the right ending one way or another.

  • @luckyangel07 I thought they were the same thing... I just briefly looked it up and it seems that one is controlled somewhat by the other, one creates the other, etc something. Not the same but similar. I thought they were giving us a break and just giving us an abbreviation to use... LOL

ANYROAD. I'll delve into that deeper a bit later... I don't necessarily have the time to get lost in the GoT fold on the interwebz right now.

but OMG. Anyone like my unsullied/craster's baby white walker army parallel? lol.

Does anyone else watch all the previews before the episode? I think "The Leftovers" looks good, I'll have to check that show when it comes out. Also, I can't believe True Blood is ending. *cries*
