  • Lucifer's Hammer by Larry Niven
.....ok, it's an odd choice.  It's a disaster/apocalyptic/scifi book.  But I always read it on my first trip of the summer, which is usually a camping trip. So it fits.  If I were going to the beach next week, I'd probably choose camping on Assateague Island anyway.

Then I'd grab some Danielle Steel books that I have waiting for me to read.  I hear they are pretty easy reading and I grabbed a bunch of random ones at a book bazaar a few weeks ago on the cheap.

“Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?"
"That depends a good deal on where you want to get to."
    "I don't much care where –"
"Then it doesn't matter which way you go.”

I second any Sarah Jio books! I really liked The Bungalow and Blackberry Winter the best!

    I third Sarah Jio!
  • The Sarah Jio book that I own but haven't read. I think Morning Glory.
The In The Garden trilogy by Nora Roberts. And her new book The Collector.

I'd probably make a trip to B&N for something new or raid my bookshelves for something. I like light easy reads for vacations.

  • Thanks for this post! I'm leaving for the beach tomorrow and it reminded me that I have The Bungalow on my bookshelf! My mom gave it to me years ago and it's now in my carry on! Perfect timing!
