GTKY: Severe

If you were to have a tornado come through where in your house would you go to seek shelter?

Re: GTKY: Severe

  • Under the stairs in the basement I guess. I'd have to sacrifice my Christmas decorations though...

  • I guess the basement

  • We would have to throw everything from our hall closet into the hallway real quick and then hop in there. It's super small so we would be really cramped in there.
  • Probably in the basement under the steps... or by the washer/dryer (or where it is supposed to be) because the addition is in that area so there is only 1 glass block window instead of 2.

  • We have a bathroom in the basement that has no windows, I guess in there or under the basement steps but we'd have to bail the xmas stuff, fishing gear and golf clubs out first.

  • If we had time, the basement but we'd have to go outside to get there and it freaks me out!
If not, we have a closet under our stairs.

  • In out basement under the stairs. We usually have multiple tornado warnings a year, and have a plan in place on what we'd do.
  • I guess in the basement under the stairs but I would probably be freaking the f out so who knows if I'd get there. I always used to think that I wouldn't have to deal with this because we live in DE but two tornadoes have hit here in recent memory so I guess it is something we'll have to think about.

  • Our basement doesn't have any windows so we'd be down there. We actually have extra dog cages down there for our dogs. Might seem weird but in a time of panic I like the thought of being able to secure them and not having to try to hold on to them.

  • Not sure since we live in a apt. Complex... Maybe the bathroom or closet we live on top floor now but the place we are moving too we in between two levels... FL they do not build basements that I know of..
