  • 10:58 here. Had dinner at the IL's and came home to a wet basement and a yard with a foot of water in it and the rain still pouring down. I wish I was exaggerating. DH and I went out to the front sidewalk and dug some trenches at 10:30 at night HOPING it will help drain the yard some. I'm crying now because I just don't know where we are going to get the money to fix the multiple things causing this, getting rid of the hedges, and 3T.

@islandmonkey8 that sucks so hard. Stupid rain. It's 5:42am and I'm putzing around trying to wake up and waiting for H to get out of the shower so I can get started. :)
  • @islandmonkey8, that really sucks, I'm sorry. :( Were you able to drain some of the water?

The yard was only 1/2 flooded this morning. The basement is drying. The rain has stopped for now so hopefully our yard dries out. We'll be spending most of the weekend cleaning out the basement and figuring out what to do.

Ugh. I'm sorry, IM; that is such crap luck. Yesterday, I was glad we don't have a basement. I'm sure it would have been totally full of water. The lower corner of our backyard was flooded, but we got off lucky being on a slight rise.

I'm sorry @islandmonkey8 that really sucks.  The house we used to rent go water in the basement every time we got a heavy rain.  I was always stressed when it rained! I hope your clean-up is fairly painless.
