What's your favorite laundry detergent and fabric softener?

What's your "go-to" and most reliable laundry detergent and fabric softener (liquid or sheets)?
I'm searching for the best combination to provide awesome cleaning power and long lasting scent.
I see consumer reports rated Wisk at the top of detergents and Bounce dryer sheets at the top for fabric softener.
What's your experience?

Ps right now I just started a bottle of All (original) detergent and downy liquid softener (original). I really like this combination but All actually ranked low on consumer reports for cleaning power! Grrrr

We use All Free and Clear detergent (free of perfumes and dyes) but I hear it doesn't get good consumer reports. I love it though, it's so hypoallergenic.

We also use OxiClean to get stains out. No fabric softeners in our home.

  • Oxyclean powder is my go to spot remover!

  • I usually like anything that smells good and gets stains out. I like to add baking soda in it.

I love Ecos. I get it at Sams Club for just under $14 and it does 210 he loads. It has natural fabric softener in it. If needed, I use Target Up&Up free and clear dryer sheets.

  • I actually make my own out of Borax, Washing Soda, Fels Naptha, and Oxy Clean.  If money's no object, I love Gain Apple Mango Tango for detergent, liquid softener, and dryer sheets (but I just love how it smells).

  • I am super picky about this!  I can't stop buying Tide Sweet Dreams with the complementing dryer sheets!  The lavender vanilla scent is what "gets" me!

For the record, I don't sell this stuff, so please don't report me as spammy :)  I just love it so much, I have been known to buy it online when it's not available in my local supermarket ;)
  • Currently, I'm hooked on homemade laundry products. However, for years I was a loyal Tide and Downy girl!
