That sounds terrible... ;)  Unless it's your MIL that you need help with?

Its the MIL. I can't take any more veiled insults.

I have a coworker who does this.  I have taken to asking, in a confused but not aggressive voice, "What do you mean by that?'  She doesn't do it nearly as much anymore.

I used to full out call her on it. I was than labelled the horrible person who ruined herlife by marrying her son. Now its easier on the relationship to ignore her comments even if its harder on me.

  • There's so much flooding on the roads near me today.  My ditch overflowed onto the road.  Schools in my county had a delayed opening this morning.  I do before and after care, so my morning was a lot less productive than I wanted it to be.

“Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?"
"That depends a good deal on where you want to get to."
    "I don't much care where –"
"Then it doesn't matter which way you go.”

There is plenty of Hendrick's for all of us.

    My sweet babies:

  • Yesterday at dinner, my husband handed Charlie his sippy cup, and Ally told the baby "Say, 'Thank you, Daddy!'" and then I DIED.

Also, work can suck my balls.  I've been spending more time planning summer parties/vacations than addressing my growing to-do list and I give not a single fuck.

  • I'm pretty sure I have an ear infection for the first time in my life. So that's fun.

This is the one time of year I don't want the weekend to come. Classes start again on Monday and, as it's my last semester, my schedule is going to be NUTS. Over the last week or so I've really enjoyed knowing that when I finish work at 5 I get to home and just BE, rather than rush through evening routine so I can get started on my school stuff.

  • Also, the free gumballs in my office make my whole sugar free diet VERY difficult to stick to.

The basics were tampons vs. menstrual cups, but that makes it sound like I have a preference when I don't really care at all what you prefer to use.  The real issue that got me riled up was the presentation of anecdotes and personal experience as scientific research.

That's horrible. I'm sorry you have to deal with her.

  • The cost of day care for two kids makes me want to vomit. I plan on working from home to keep the girls with me as much as possible. Basically, I'll only go into the office when necessary until my boss yells at me.
