  • I really wanted to like something on the lists this month but I couldn't find anything that interested me.

I picked up Going Vintage. I read about it somewhere recently. Other than that there is nothing that I want to pay for.
  • I picked up Dragon's Triangle. It sounded good enough, for free.

I didn't see that one in there, but Lindsey Leavitt is really sweet and she writes such simple, powerful stories. I read Sean Griswold's Head a few years ago and it really blew me away despite being something I wouldn't normally pick up.

  • I bought The Rope: An Anna Pigeon Novel by Nevada Barr. I love this series. They're about a female park ranger in law enforcement and each one takes place at a different national park.
My favorite place on earth: The Amargosa Valley.

I have been meaning to read this series! I have one of the books but can never get my hands on the first one. I am afraid it won't be as awesome as I want it to be ( that was my dream job growing up all the way through college. Mh works in a similar job.) I have such high hopes.

I haven't been reading them in order, if that helps. They're definitely good, but they're fluffy good. Not spectacular good. A good break between heavier reading. (And coincidentally, one of the few books that passes the Bechdel test.)
My favorite place on earth: The Amargosa Valley.

Kurt Vonnegut's Breakfast of Champions is included in the Big Deal for those who haven't read it.

I was pretty disappointed with the May monthly deals. There was one computer security thriller that was already on my TBR list, so I picked that up while it was on sale, but that was it.

From the Big Deal, I bought The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich, because I've heard so many good things, and I would like to read it some day.

I also decided to try The Etiquette of Illness, because I remember how I was disappointed by a lot of things people said about my divorce, and having never been through a very serious illness, I wouldn't want to inadvertently hurt someone in the same way.

And lastly I picked up Mulberry and Peach about a split-personality, post-war traumatized Chinese woman. Because the few reviews that are out there all seem decidedly split and intriguing. It made me curious.

  • I don't have Kindle, but I'll recommend The Death of Bees from the May Deals.

Nothing looked particularly interesting, but I have had Nevada Barr recommended so maybe I'll get that.
    Can I marry them all?
