Need Ideas (NGPR)

Hi Ladies,

You all are full of fun and 'pun-ny' ideas when it comes to things that matter.  We are walking in the Race for the Cure next Sunday (May 11) in memory of my FIL who lost his 4 month battle with breast cancer in February.  We're looking to make team shirts but since he obviously had male breast cancer, all of the 'Save the Tatas' and 'Fight for the Boobies' don't really relate.  Does anyone have any good ideas?  I will either be doing the iron on route or making them so witty but not too complicated would be best. :)  Also, his first name was Antonio if you want to work with that.

Thanks in advance!

Re: Need Ideas (NGPR)

  • In general, I hate the save the tatas and I love boobies sayings. I feel like it is more of a joke than something to raise awareness.
  • I would just do something like: in loving memory or something along those lines. You knew him, did he have a special saying or phrase
  • @BruinsBabe33 - Unfortunately I didn't speak the same language as him as he only spoke Portuguese.  He was a spitfire though so the very few English phrases he did know were definitely not family friendly.  I'll have to talk to DH about that and see if anything translates well.
  • Following in the line of "save the ta-ta's " maybe something like "save the man boobs" or a general "men can get breast cancer, too!" If the first is too... Blunt? Or crass?

Also, I thought this was cute but it may mean nothing to you guys... But when I was typing out tata's for above, iPad autocorrected to AT-AT   Which is a Star Wars thing, and the exact opposite spelling of TA-TA, and men are the opposite of women (generally speaking, I don't want to get into a gender debate, lol so not the intention) so a shirt with ATAT's and a PSA for dudes to be on the look out because BC isn't only a chick issue.  Maybe?

In any regard I hope you have nice weather and a great turn out for the race!
