Divergent?

Happy Sunday, ladies!

Have you seen Divergent (or read the books)? What did you think?

DH and I have a couple of free movie passes and I noticed this is still in theaters. I was told I might like it since I enjoyed Hunger Games.

Re: Divergent?

  • Have not seen the movie but I really want to! I enjoyed the books a lot.

  • So I read the series but I haven't seen the movies. I was not a huge fan of the series. Book one (Divergent) was pretty good but Insurgent and Allegiant were meh. So I have no desire to start the movie series.

That being said I have heard good things about the movie it was well done and yes it is another young adult dystopian series so it is similar to Hunger Games in that sense. I thought HG was much better. So I bet you would enjoy it.

  • I will always love The Hunger Games more, but having enjoyed reading Divergent I thought the movie did a good job. For free passes it's definitely worth it.

  • I read them. Loved the first book, the second was pretty good, hated the third.

  • Read all three, watched the movie. I liked all the books and the movie, but separately. I don't know if that makes sense. I loved Hunger Games more. But I definitely think Divergent is worth seeing in theaters, especially for free.

  • I have witnessed that those that have read the books and then saw the movie did not like it as much.  If you haven't read the books, the movie is great.  In my opinion, I liked the movie after reading the books but they did miss a bunch.  Go see it!  It's free!
  • Thanks, ladies! I'll see if I can convince DH :)
