dollar store pregnancy tests

Let's just say that a "friend" needs a pregnancy test but is being cheap.  I've heard that dollar stores sell them.  Is it any dollar store?  Or is it a specific one (dollar tree, dollar general)?  And are they seriously a dollar?

Dollar Tree :) Yep, they're seriously a dollar. I got my BFP for Claire on one of these tests, so they do work. The only piece of advice I'll give you (oops - your friend) is that they're not the kind you pee on - you have to pee in a cup, then they give you an eye dropper to put some of the pee on to the test. One of my friends described it as her very own CSI experiment ;)
  • Yep, it makes a paranoid person like me be able to test all willy nilly when my cycle is screwy! Good luck to your "friend"

Oh wow, that does sound like a csi experiment.  Thanks for the tip, you know, for my friend.

  • Ditto the CSI experiment!  They also have ovulation tests, I don't recommend those.

  • No prob. Good luck to your 'friend' ;)

  • ditto to everyone, used them for both pregnancies :)  good luck to your friend!

Dollar tree...I used them both pregnancies and had positives around 3w, 4 days both times! Their ovulation kits also worked well used them both times for about 5 days each and they were spot on. Yes, they are $1!!

Unfortunately, the ovulation tests did not work for me at all.  I received both a false positive and a false negative using them.  If you need to determine your O date (especially for those being treated for IF), I would recommend something more reliable.  The Clearblue Easy ones have never failed me.

Well, I think I am remembering that you said you were done, so I hope that was the answer you wanted.  :-)

  • I change my mind on a daily basis.  So who knows!
