QOTD 5/7

Do you (or DH) make your bed everyday?

Re: QOTD 5/7

  • Nope, pretty much never actually.
  • Nope never. Basically because I work days and he works nights... There's probably only 4 hours someone isn't in there.

  • Nope, only when we change the sheets or are having company over.

  • Since I've been working from home, I've been making the bed almost every day. Since I'm usually procrastinating from doing thesis stuff, my house has never been so clean!

  • @Nic12184, my house is much cleaner now that I'm home a lot too!

  • Nope!  I envy the type of people who do that, though.  #hotmess4life here

  • Nope, but it's something I wish I would do.  I'm just not a morning person and will hit snooze like 15 times so there isn't ever enough time for extra stuff like that.

  • Make room on the "only when I change the sheets or have company" couch. I do straighten them out right before I go to bed but that's only because DH usually steals them.

  • I do. I never used to as a kid but I like having a tidy bed to climb into at night now. I also think it makes the room look so much better. If it's the one day I work and DH doesn't, it doesn't get made though! Haha

I always make the bed as soon as I get up !  I've been OCD about that since I was in middle school.  H doesn't care and he never made his bed before we were married.

  • I just deep cleaned my entire house on the weekend and since then it's been made everyday. I'm hoping we can keep it up!

  • Nope. Add me to the list of people that make the bed when its time to change the sheets only. Every once in a while I will pull the blankets and comforter up and throw the pillows back on the bed so I can open the curtains.

  • I dont make the bed so much as flip the sheets back up. it's not neat or anything but the dogs spend a lot of their day there so I'd rather they be on top of the comforter then like, in my pillow case (which has happened. kind of adorable though)

  • I make it every day. It drives me crazy if DH gets up after me and doesn't.

  • Next to never. Only time I've made it look slightly neater was during the possibility of having company over.

I do.  I am not a morning person and I really hate getting up for work.  If my bed isn't made, I'll go to the bathroom, then get back in bed and never get out of the house.  My bed is made right after I go to the bathroom every morning so I can be a functional member of society.
  • Only when we wash the sheets or have people over. We tried for a while after moving in, but meh. We don't use our comforter (too hot!) and then I usually only use the sheet and occasionally my super soft UT blanket, and H uses the fleece blanket, so it's silly to spread them both over both of our spots daily.

  • Every day! We split it pretty 50/50 and make it before we go downstairs for breakfast. H never made the bed before we were married, but he tries now for me, which I appreciate. I became a stickler about it in college... I got weird about people sitting on my unmade messy bed when it was the only place to sit in a dorm room. Now, there can be H's clothes all over the floor and a laundry basket to be folded, but somehow a made bed makes the room look so much neater.
  • I used to try to get the bed made every day- but I leave for work before Dh and the dog are even out of bed- so it's pointless because he never makes it!
  • I used to but have no in the last few months. I will throw the sheets and comforter up but none of the fancy pillows have been on the bed in months, unless we were having company over !

@xxjen015 That's already me.  I set the alarm for 30 minutes before I need to wake up and hit the snooze button and bunch of times.  I also have my cell phone alarm set to go off twice in addition to the alarm clock.

Me too! 30 mins of snoozing and I have an extra alarm when I need to get up in case I turn off the original alarm.

I slept through my alarm enough during student teaching that I downloaded one on my phone that makes me do math problems to get it to shut off.

I don't think I can open my eyes enough to see a math problem to process and solve it.  My alarm would go off for an extended (and annoying) period of time...H would hate it.  He wakes up immediately at the first alarm.
