ugh! Mom fail of the day...

Dd is having a Mother's day tea today at preschool.  I sent her in this cute little (casual) dress and capri leggings.  We showed up and all the other girls are wearing fancy, going to church on Easter, dresses.  I didn't know it was that kind of "event".  I know it's not really that big of a deal, I just hate when I don't get it right.  Ya know?

Re: ugh! Mom fail of the day...

  • Aw, I'm sure she looked adorable! And unless the daycare would spell out that it should be fancy dresses - how would you know? I wouldn't have sent my DD in a fancy dress if our school was having a Mother's day tea (heck, I don't even know if I'd have sent her in a dress!). But I totally understand where you're coming from as well.
  • Your DD will be the most comfortable!  And like Gwen, I probably would have done a cute but more casual look unless they spelled it out.  I'd feel bad about it, but you really shouldn't!  I'm sure she looks adorable and she's just happy to have you there for a special day!
  • Yeah I wouldn't have know either! Dd's after school care place is doing a Mother's Day tea today and dd is not wearing a fancy dress! Our daycare Mother's Day celebration was never dress up either
