so I was thinking about this. whenever I use a bathroom out in public (and sometimes in peoples houses) I wash my hands then use the paper towel to open the door, hold my foot open with the door, and throw the paper towel into the trash so that I don't have to touch the door knob with my nicely cleaned hands....a little much? probably but for real, do you think people clean their bathroom door knobs very often? I don't think so.
Re: bathrooms....
Eta - at work I throw my paper towel in the trash going up to my floor (my floor doesn't have a bathroom). There's a trash in the hallway.
Thats part of my bathroom cleaning routine. But I do the paper towel thing at work or in public.

The only place in our house where we don't close the door is the master bath, but that's because the way M designed it, the only door you go through is to get into our space. We have no closet door & no bathroom door. I know it sounds weird, but we have angled walls, so we're not staring each other down while we do our business.
