Time for another edition of "This is weird, right?"

A few weeks ago, this dude from another department sat with me for a like an hour to see what I do and how I do it.  He had sat with a bunch of different people in my department before that.  I believe he is working on making the different systems we use more efficient or something.  Anyway, it was crazy awkward.  We engaged in typical small talk, which didn't really help with the awkwardness, and I honestly forgot his name as quickly as I learned it.  I was relieved when he left.

Cut to today and facebook tells me I have a friend request.  After looking at the profile, I realized it's the dude.  I feel like this is so random!  I have not seen this guy since the day he sat with me and while our conversation was polite, I would not call it friendly.  We do have 2 mutual friends, but they're not people I talk to on the regular.  I don't know what to do!  I mean, this isn't college, where you facebook friend someone just because you made eye contact once.  I don't know this guy and I don't want him to know my business.  At the same time, I don't really know the grown-up workforce rules for facebook and I don't want to inadvertently make a faux pas.  Sigh.

I may be over-thinking this.  It is weird, though, right?  What would you do?
