Hello,
This is my first post, I'm hoping to get some advice on realtors. We love the house we are currently renting. The real estate agent that handles the property management has mentioned that if we decided we wanted to buy, the seller may be interested and he'd be happy to be our agent. Now, as a property manager, the agent is ok, but I don't know that I would want to depend on him for such a big undertaking as buying our first home. We have a ways to go before we're ready to make an offer, but when we are, how do we work around the fact that we don't want him to represent us?
Thanks!
Re: Buying the house we rent
This times 10. It is perfectly reasonable to tell him you want a neutral agent. Any professional would understand that and, if he gets mad/hurt by it, that is just even more reason you would want your own agent. I personally would NEVER use my seller's agent or vice versa.
