  • My team is hosting a potluck picnic tomorrow. People can bring food or $5. My one cw is leading it. I offered to take some money to get plates, utensils etc from BJ's since no-one offered. We got about $70. She tell me to only get 50 each, there are 48 coming. Ummm we usually have leftovers for a day or two. She said people can save their paper plates! I get 150 and ate the difference.

Then she didn't want to buy a deli meat tray... But meat and wanted us to hand roll it. We finally talked her into getting the tray.

The last straw was today when I asked if we had condiments for the deli meats... She said she checked the fridge and we had mayo and mustard. I checked, the mayo expired 2 years ago, mustard a year ago. I threw the mayo away and she came over and said a year was fine for mustard, it's vinegar. Ew no! I said I wouldn't eat it and you shouldn't serve that to others. She asked others they said the same thing. Then I got an email telling me we would have nice, fresh condiments and if there's anything else I thought we should get.

I really didn't know she was this cheap... Or she's trying to pocket the leftover $. But I'm checking the dates the next time she brings anything in!

  • this is disgusting. for real you can buy mustard, mayo, and plates at the $ store if you needed to watch how much money you were spending.

never in a million years would I serve mayo or mustard that old.

  • @mana8503‌ I saw this commercial on tv and it reminded me of your mustard situation, lol! Lol look 40% more free!

  • Absolutely not. That's gross. I don't like drinking milk the day after the sell by date, even though I know it's generally good for another day or two.

Or she could steal a bunch of packets from a Chinese restaurant.  That seems like something up her alley.
  • No...and how long has it been in the fridge?? Mustard usually has a pretty far expiration date on it, doesn't it?
