So close!

So we are set to close next Wednesday and are just waiting on the underwriter's final approval.

Today we were informed that the underwriter doesn't like that the appraiser reported the exterior trim as fair condition as opposed to good or average. Seriously??

So now we have to hire someone to have it painted and done this week. The house is being sold as is so we can't ask the seller to do it, but they gave their ok for us to hire someone. I just hope it doesn't cost too much. And I'm also worried that something else will come up and we end up buying a new trim job for someone else's house.

Re: So close!

  • Do you happen to have a VA or FHA loan? I hear those are both picky about everything, even paint!
    Anniversary
  • Nope it's conventional. This underwriter has been super super picky and I'm just ready to get it over with. By the way it's gonna be $500 so not too awful and it saves us from doing it ourselves like we were planning on.
