Dear Community,

Our tech team has launched updates to The Nest today. As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. Seattle itinerary

For anyone who knows Seattle fairly well, I'd love your thoughts on the itinerary, especially when there are alternate options. Not sure on which options are more worthwhile as we're trying to cram a lot into 2 days! TIA

Saturday

8:00 a.m. - Wake up and get ready to leave. Grab continental breakfast from hotel, or grab food on the road

9:00 a.m.  – Hit the road

12:00 p.m. – Arrive in Seattle!

12:30 p.m. – Go for lunch

2:00 p.m. – Head to the Museum of Flight (9404 East Marginal Way S)

2:30 p.m.- 4:30 p.m. – Museum of Flight

5:00 p.m. – Check in to hotel and grab dinner

7:00 p.m. – Head to Chihuly Garden & Glass (305 Harrison St – open until 10 p.m.)

ALTERNATE OPTION FOR SUNDAY – Skip either the Museum of Flight or the Chihuly Garden & Glass and go on a harbor cruise or hop on a ferry across Puget Sound.

 

Sunday

8:30 a.m. – Wake up and get ready

9:30 a.m. – Walk to Pike Place Market (25-30 minute walk - find breakfast on the way)

10:30 a.m – 2:00 p.m. – Pike Place Market and Elliott Bay Harbour/Waterfront (have lunch around here) (things to see: Original Starbucks, gum wall, ferris wheel and carousel)

2:00 p.m. – Start walking to Pacific Science Centre (about 20-30 minutes)

2:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. – Pacific Science Centre

4:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. – Space Needle (2 minute walk from PSC) and EMP Museum

6:30 p.m. – Capitol Hill or Ballard area for dinner/walk around (Would need to grab the car.)

ALTERNATE OPTION FOR SUNDAY – Spend more time at the Pike Place Market/Waterfront and visit the Space Needle in the evening.

 

Monday

9:00ish - Wake up and go to Portage Bay Café (391 Terry Avenue N) for breakfast

11:00 a.m. - Hit the road! Visit the Fremont Troll on the way out (or into the city - 3405 Troll Ave N). Stop at the outlet mall if we have time.

2:30 p.m. (at the latest) - Arrive back in Vancouver

    DH and I were in Seattle a few months ago.

    Instead of the Space Needle, we did the Columbia Center - it's down in the business part of town, so probably not as convenient for your itinerary above, but it had awesome 360 views (it's the tallest building in the city) that INCLUDED the Space Needle, which we both thought was really cool.

    Also, if you pay for a ticket, it's good for the whole day so you can go back later that night for the night view too!


    I can't compare it to actually going up the Space Needle, since we didn't do that, but it was definitely cool!

  • Sorry I'm seeing this so late, but your itinerary looks pretty good for the short time you are going to be there. Hope you had fun!
