~Getting Healthy Check In!~

This is technically a day late but I'm considering today Monday since yesterday was a holiday. :-)

I'm starting, or rather restarting, this thread because I think it's pretty useful and relevant for a lot of ladies on GP. Whether you are really into fitness or really AREN'T and need lots of motivation, this thread will be where we can commisserate and provide support and can celebrate your successes!

1) What are your fitness goals?

2) How has your progress been this week?

3) What is your "plan" (diet, workout regime, etc)?

4) Best part of your week?

5) Worst part of your week?

QOTW: Where do you get your favorite workout clothes?

Re: ~Getting Healthy Check In!~

  • 1) What are your fitness goals?- I always have had goals to get to 180.... RE has a 'policy' about all IVF being under a 35 BMI.... Which is like 80 lbs... My RE will fight for me but I need to show that I'm committed and motivated since I made myself wait to lose 70+ lbs before going to the RE. So onward and upward (this was the part of my awesome visit that broke my heart)

    2) How has your progress been this week? Despite Memorial Day bad choices I stepped on the scale and atleast I broke even due to taking a hike yesterday and walking around P-town Sunday.

    3) What is your "plan" (diet, workout regime, etc)? Calories on MyFitnessPal, getting back into pushing my body at the gym, and trying to go as low carb as I can.

    4) Best part of your week? Staying at my friends parents house on cape cod the last two days and driving on the outer banks of Nauset beach :)

    5) Worst part of your week?
RE telling me we have to wait till I get some weight off... And realizing I'm in the best shape of my life and it's still not enough

QOTW: Where do you get your favorite workout clothes? Pants lane Bryant, bras target, tops old navy

Getting fit for IVF! :) (add another 20lbs and you have my total weight lost! :) )

  • 1) What are your fitness goals? Goal #1 - Lose 40 lbs to start IUI/injects (if Tom's S/A results come back good enough to make it worth it. Goal #2 - Lose another 35 for IVF. Total of 75 lbs.

    2) How has your progress been this week? Pretty damn good, if I do say so myself. Down 5 lbs - wooooooooo! I was a little lax this weekend as it was a holiday and there was much merriment but I just worked out a little harder and brushed it off and I am going strong today!

    3) What is your "plan" (diet, workout regime, etc)? Body by Vi and working out.

    4) Best part of your week? Down 5 lbs! Spending time with my family. :-)

    5) Worst part of your week? Probably didn't need that brownie...

QOTW: Where do you get your favorite workout clothes? I got some at Walmart this weekend and they were actually pretty cute, even though I HATE Walmart with a passion. They have a new Danskin line. The more I lose, the more I will invest in some really nice stuff.

    1) What are your fitness goals? Right now, to lose 60 pounds by my 40th b-day in February.

    2) How has your progress been this week? So far, I'm doing well.  But, we're going to a new burger place for a friend's b-day tonight and there are just no healthy choices.  I'll be as good as I can :)

    3) What is your "plan" (diet, workout regime, etc)? Body by Vi shakes twice a day and sensible snacks and dinner.  I also love walking.

    4) Best part of your week? We got all of our spring yard work done.  I love playing outside in the yard.

    5) Worst part of your week? Work's been a little frustrating.  I love my job, but it's making me a bit stabby this week.

QOTW: Where do you get your favorite workout clothes? A Canadian chain called Reitmans.  Workout clothes in plus sizes are so hard to find and it's really frustrating.

  • 1) What are your fitness goals? Lose 15-20lbs

    2) How has your progress been this week? I had my good days and my bad days. Thanks to bloat and lots of follies, I was up 2lbs more than when I weighed myself 3 weeks ago, then the next day down 5 from where I started. I'm going to keep an eye on this since the RE mentioned the strong possibility of OHSS this cycle for me. BUT down 5 lbs in 3 weeks makes me happy.

    3) What is your "plan" (diet, workout regime, etc)? Exercise more, myfitnesspal tracking at least 5 if not the full 7 days of the week, trying to exercise 3-4, ideally more, days a week.

    4) Best part of your week? Realizing I'm down 5lbs.

    5) Worst part of your week? Consistency. I'm really good for a few days and then bust way past my calories the next. I know if I was more consistent with this I'd be seeing the results I want faster.

QOTW: Where do you get your favorite workout clothes? Old Navy, Kohls, Target. I don't like the spend a lot on work out clothes. But I do need more. The ones I have are really getting worn out.

  • 1) What are your fitness goals? Well I need to lose 15 lbs, and so far I gained 2... :-/

    2) How has your progress been this week? We did trail walks, we went on a almost 3 hour uphill hike on Saturday, I did at least 15 mins every day of cardio except Fri & Sun.

    3) What is your "plan" (diet, workout regime, etc)? I am eating lighter during the day, that's my goal. Also, not snack at night or at least not as much.
Cardio in the morning at least 15 mins every morning and then work out after work either trails or elliptical. If we can squeeze in a hike than I'm all for it.

    4) Best part of your week? Our Sunday hike through this awesome reservation. It's my favorite place to go. It was 2 1/2 hours of all uphill hiking, perfect weather.

    5) Worst part of your week? Yesterday was a little rough for me. I ate a lot of did no exercise. There is an add on to this bad part of the day but I will post separately.

    1) What are your fitness goals? To lose 5lbs and be able to feel more comfortable with my body. Also to fit into my summer clothes from the last few years.

    2) How has your progress been this week? Really good. I'm down a lb which is really good for me.

    3) What is your "plan" (diet, workout regime, etc)? Eating healthy natural foods with some kind of daily exercise and 3-4 good cardio and strength training.

    4) Best part of your week? Going to the park by myself to work out (normally I would have let DH not wanting to go keep me at home). Also, see all the fruits and vegetables that we bought at the store.

    5) Worst part of your week? Seeing what I thought was a healthy pick at red lobster turn into a 850 calorie meal. Eating cookies and ho-hos for breakfast.

QOTW: Where do you get your favorite workout clothes? Old navy or gap (on sale)

    1) What are your fitness goals?
    To lose ~25 lbs

    2) How has your progress been this week?
I lost .7 lbs, and I consider that a good start!

    3) What is your "plan" (diet, workout regime, etc)?
Track calories on MFP.  I want to start an exercise routine, but I really need new pants before I do so.  Or at least, that's my excuse.

    4) Best part of your week?
I worked every day this weekend, and Saturday and Sunday were blissfully slow.

    5) Worst part of your week?
Monday was horrendously busy.  Also, still not hearing back from the job I applied to even though they called all my references.  Boo.

QOTW: Where do you get your favorite workout clothes?
    Target forever.

  • 1) What are your fitness goals? Overall, drop approx 60 lbs. my first goal is 30. 2) How has your progress been this week? MDW was a bit rough. My parents were visiting, which means we ate out every single day
  • Okay, I'm going to try and get in on this.

    1) What are your fitness goals? Cook healthy meals at home more often and get more into exercise. Ideally, I would drop 10+ lbs in the process, but I'm not focusing on my weight.

    2) How has your progress been this week? Pretty good. DH and I agreed on a goal to stop going out to eat so much, and I got in a lot of good workouts.

    3) What is your "plan" (diet, workout regime, etc)? A minimum of 4 dinners/week cooked at home that include lots of veggies.

    4) Best part of your week? Talking to friends about the group workout class pass that I bought for our school's rec center - a few of them are going to buy one and join me for classes!

    5) Worst part of your week? We had a party Saturday, so my dinner consisted of tons of alcohol, chips and dip, etc.

QOTW: Where do you get your favorite workout clothes? Another vote for Target

  • 1) What are your fitness goals?  Run a half marathon in August...it's a goal, but I'm already signed up.  I've lost 25 pounds, but want to hit another 10.  I'll be at my all time goal weight.

    2) How has your progress been this week?  It was so-so.  I did REALLY good on some days and not so good on others.

    3) What is your "plan" (diet, workout regime, etc)?  Running 3-4 times a week, gluten free and mostly dairy free

    4) Best part of your week?   The long weekend!

    5) Worst part of your week?  All the foods and choices

QOTW: Where do you get your favorite workout clothes?  Fav = lulu, but most are from Old Navy
  • 1) What are your fitness goals? Lose 86 lbs and then see where I am at that point.

    2) How has your progress been this week? It was ok. I'm still not where I want to be in terms of cardio. I just need to make it a bigger priority.

    3) What is your "plan" (diet, workout regime, etc)? Tracking calories on MyFitnessPal and trying to do cardio a few times a week.

    4) Best part of your week? Went a kid's birthday party at a park so I was able to get a little bit more walking/hiking in.

    5) Worst part of your week? I forgot to do my official weigh-in on Sunday so now I have to wait until this upcoming Sunday to see if I made any progress. I know I could just weigh another day but it bugs me to weigh on different days so I would rather wait. I know...I'm weird.

QOTW: Where do you get your favorite workout clothes? I love the compression capris from Old Navy. They keep everything from jiggling! I buy tops from Walmart and sometimes Lane Bryant for camis.

  • So many of you girls are rocking the weight loss!  Keep it going!

    1) What are your fitness goals? Run in half marathon #2 of the year in September.  Build muscle and not focus on the weight on the scale.
    2) How has your progress been this week?  Well, I ate gluten and drank alcohol.  So not great at all.  However, we did a 4 mile run Saturday, went hiking, then 4 mile walk on Sunday.  Hoping to go to bootcamp class tomorrow morning and run this Saturday to get back on my routine.
    3) What is your "plan" (diet, workout regime, etc)? Bootcamp class M, W, F. Running T, TH, Sat.  Diet is eating enough of the right types of calories to hopefully keep my body working.  No Gluten and PCOS friendly foods.
    4) Best part of your week? H doing the 4 mile run with me Saturday morning.  It was slower than my pace, but was so awesome to have him do this with me.  He said he felt great, which made me happy.
    5) Worst part of your week? Eating gluten and drinking alcohol while on 5 days of vacation, and having it delay ovulation. :-(  Stupid body!
QOTW: Where do you get your favorite workout clothes? Kohls and JCPenney.

  • I'm late to this but I'll fill it in

    1) What are your fitness goals?
To get in shape, have more energy, lose weight (probably could stand to lose around 100 pounds, but taking it slow)

    2) How has your progress been this week?
I cancelled my current gym membership since we moved and it is no longer convenient for me. I joined a much more convenient gym chain, which one location is 5 minutes from my new house, and one location is about 10 mins from work and they have a pool and I drive by it every day!
    I went swimming this morning

    3) What is your "plan" (diet, workout regime, etc)?
Plan to go to the gym to swim at least 3 mornings per week, possibly more depending on how I feel. Also on the days I don't swim I will look into evening classes at the gym closer to home, possibly yoga or a spin class.
As for diet, I'm going to continue trying to have a healthy breakfast at home, try to cut down on coffee (and sub with tea more often), drink a lot of water.
I've also recently heard about a health supplement (not a meal replacement) that is working very well for a friend of mine so I am going to give that a go as well, since I can't find any negative reviews of it online.

    4) Best part of your week?
    swimming this morning :)
    5) Worst part of your week?
swimming this morning--- realizing I am nowhere near in any kind of decent shape. 15 years ago I was on a swim team, today I could barely do two laps without needing to stop for a break.

QOTW: Where do you get your favorite workout clothes?
Lane Bryant for leggings and sports bra
Got my bathing suits at WalMart
    ~Jenny~
