Where do you buy furniture?
Hey guys,
Does anyone know of any stores that sell decent quality furniture at a decent price? DH and I just went out and bought a Sleep Number mattress and now DH is trying to convince me that we should buy a new bed too so that we just replace everything at once. Truth be told our old bed frame really does need to be replaced (after 4 moves across the country it is cracked and barely being held together and it shows).
Currently the bed we have has a bookshelf as a headboard and lots of drawers underneath, which we use instead of a dresser and side tables, so if we get rid of this one and buy a different bed I will probably be looking at buying a dresser and tables as well to make up for the lack of storage. The thing is because we just spent a ton of money on the new mattress I really don't want to spend a ton on furniture now too (and of course I have champagne tastes on a beer budget! lol).
So far I've been hitting up some local thrift stores and Craigslist (found a few items we liked, but haven't been able to get a response back about any of them) and the furniture stores that I've seen nearby seem to be a bit on the pricey side. Just wondering if anyone has any ideas on stores or websites to check out that might have some good deals.
Thanks for any suggestions!
Re: Where do you buy furniture?
I'm not sure if you have any of these stores near you but
We buy furniture from:
Ikea (beginners furniture, wouldnt really reccomend as good quality stuff)
Target
Macy's
JC Penny's
Bobs Discount Furniture
Pilgrim or Puritan Furniture
@AprilH81 I rarely find stuff on Craigslist either, and was surprised that there were several bedroom sets posted within the last week or so that I liked. It's unfortunate that no one wants to respond to emails or texts though (even if it was just to say that the item was gone.) Oh well.
@hoffse, I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought furniture here was expensive (I had sticker shock thinking about how much more things cost here than in Colorado!). It wouldn't be too hard to check out some of the places you mentioned and one of my girlfriends has been wanting to take a drive up that way so maybe we'll go take a mini-road trip up north.
Thanks again for all suggestions guys! It's appreciated

It's a place that tries to unload furniture and other décor items from other stores. Things are marked down up to 70% off. So far we have bought décor items, a rug, throw pillows and 2 arm chairs from there and LOVE it. They arm chairs were $600 chairs that we got for $192 each.
They sell bedroom stuff too.
