    1. How MM was your weekend?

It was decent. Stayed under budget for everything planned, and stayed within reasonable limits for the unplanned items (we went to a carnival and a movie).

    2. Any progress towards your goals?

No progress this week, but we got our end of the month miscellaneous credit from the bank for reimbursed ATM fees - $7 - so we put that away.

    3. Any plans for June? (can be MMR or NMMR)

We have a lot going on: This weekend we have Terror Con (budgeted), we are also hoping to pick up our puppy on the 14th, DD's ballet recital is on the 21st (also my 25th birthday!), and we are also going out to eat (taking out the whole family) on the 22nd. I think the 28th/29th is really our only weekend to relax.

    1) Ours was pretty good.  Spent about $92 on groceries for the week.  I also picked up a baby shower gift for a coworker.  A group of us went in on her car seat together.  I can't wait to see her reaction on Friday.  Assuming everybody pays me back (and I'm sure they will), I will have stayed in budget for that too.

Funny story - I made H come and pick up the car seat with me, because I knew it would be pretty large for me to carry out of the store by myself.  When we got to the store (BuyBuyBaby), he nearly flipped out looking at all the baby stuff.  I've never seen him so focused on getting OUT of a store in my life.  Later he was like, "Are we going to be able to afford all that crap?"  And I had to explain to him how 80% of it is really unnecessary.  Poor H.  I didn't prepare him properly for that experience....

    2) I put $3,000 toward our house savings this week.

    3) We literally have 0 plans for June.  It's kind of amazing!  I figure we'll probably visit our families around Father's Day, but that's really it.

1- I always feel like I'm loosing my mind every week with this post because I have a hard time remembering what we even did :)  Friday night we went out for my bday with friends and DH took care of the bill.  I think it was $80 because he bought all the appetizers.  Saturday I went to the grocery store and spent $180 for 2 weeks worth of food.  I also got gas in my car which was $40 and lunch for $7.  Participated in the Color Run that day as well but it was already paid for.  Sunday was spent doing chores around the house.

    2- none this week

3- we have a neighborhood garage sale in a couple weeks.  we also leave for sanibel at the end of june.  I'm hoping we can finally get DD's wooden play set up in the backyard this month and possible finish painting the front of the house, but I may be to hopeful on that situation :)

We also have weddings scheduled every weekend in june.  June is always crazy busy every year with that.

  • 1. How MM was your weekend?

It could have been better. DH did grocery shopping alone while I was doing volunteer work and he went way overbudget (spent about $230). We also had to make a run to Home Depot because the fan we had bought to install in our bedroom doesn't work with our sloped ceiling so we had to buy a new one (another $150 spent). We did good by not eating out at least! It looks like we'll be spending some more money this week though--our AC unit crapped out on us over the weekend and I'm currently waiting for the AC guys to come take a look and see if they can repair it or if we're going to need to replace the whole thing.

    2. Any progress towards your goals?

No progress this week, just trucking along.

    3. Any plans for June? (can be MMR or NMMR)

We don't have any plans except for some surprise that DH says he's putting together for my birthday. We are hoping his request to be switched to the day shift will go through this month so that we can actually spend time together and actually make plans. He's been working nights for over a year now and it's really hard to do things and spend time together, even on the weekends (he tends not to wake up until 4pm or so while I'm up around 7am so most of my day is spent doing things by myself).
  • 1. How MM was your weekend?

Friday- $0 Concert at the casino, minor gambling, and dinner (we used anniversary money from parents)

Saturday- $12 CVS , $3 Ocean state. Also got a free $60 video game with a trade in console and gift card. Lots of deals and coupons. Paid out of fun money (cash)

    Sunday- $44 Gas

    Total- $59!!

    2. Any progress towards goals?

    $400 into vacation fund

    $400 into house fund

    3. Any plans for June?

No, we had a spendy and busy May, so we don't have anything planned except for biking and kayaking more.

  • 1. How MM was your weekend?
Eh. BILs wedding was this weekend and I really needed a dress. Most of mine are "juniors" dresses and since I'm now 29, I figured I should probably get a big girl dress, lol. So $60 on that, which wasn't bad for Macy's...and $150 for wedding gift. Usually don't spend that much but since it is H's brother and all...Other than that, we spent $ on some minor things like coffee and a few groceries before the wedding (~$40).

    2. Any progress towards your goals? Not really. I can't wait until after we close and move at the end of this month so we can start heavily paying on our debts again. We've put most overpaying on pause until we move in case there are some unexpected and necessary costs.

    3. Any plans for June? (can be MMR or NMMR)
Unfortunately June seems like it's going to be just as busy and expensive as May. We will be paying the other half of our condo DP, closing costs, moving, bridal shower, a friend is visiting the weekend of the bridal shower, then on another weekend I have another bridal shower AND bach party out of town, H has a bach party, Father's Day...I'm looking forward to our uneventful July... :P

  • 1. How MM was your weekend?
Really pretty good. DH spent $220 on ammo at a gun show, and we had friends over Saturday night so I spent $40 on groceries for that.

    2. Any progress towards your goals? None

    3. Any plans for June? (can be MMR or NMMR)
MMR- starting looking at houses. We looked at our budget/what a new house would cost us, and realized that our 'dream' home was within our reach right now.
NMMR- going on VACATION!!!! DH is going on a fishing trip, and I am going to take DS to see his grandparents in the black hills. It's going to be a lot of fun visiting with family.

  • 1. How MM was your weekend?

    Friday $0

Saturday $6 lunch.  $37 gas, and $70 at the grocery store.

Sunday we drove down to see our friends.  About 2 hours away.  Spend $5 at a flea market and what ever it cost us in gas.

    2. Any progress towards your goals?

None again.  Spring/Summer months are always busy for us.

    3. Any plans for June? (can be MMR or NMMR)

We have a baptism for or friends twins this coming Sunday.  Fathers day, and my Dads birthday.  We also have a first birthday party to go to, for a separate set of twins.
  • 1. How MM was your weekend? I spent $0! I worked a couple hours at my mom's daycare to earn $25 to use as a graduation gift. It was awesome. H on the other hand spent nearly $250. He had a golf tournament this weekend. It was all planned for but it sucked to see it go.

    2. Any progress towards your goals? Not yet. Hopefully later this week. I am however working two days at the daycare this week. I will have about $135 from working and I am hoping to make that a 2 week food budget so we don't have to use H's paycheck for it.

    3. Any plans for June? (can be MMR or NMMR) Nothing. I am jobless for the summer as of now and H is in the office until 6/30 so my month is going to be incredibly dull.

  • 1.  We just got back from our trip to Bonaire!  It was amazing, but we did overspend.  I had budgeted for about $900, but we came in spending $1,200.  It's nothing we can't cash flow and deal with, and I don't regret it.  It was mostly spent on extra dive experiences that I'll really treasure, and I am proud I didn't waste too much on cheap beach food or pina coladas.  One big unexpected expense was that our free airport parking fell through and we had to pay to park at Logan Airport in Boston (other New Englanders will feel me on what a rip that is...)  We had a very early morning flight and were going to park at a friend's in a nearby town and take a $10 cab ride, but his girlfriend parked in the spot and I didn't want to wake them up at 3 AM.  Also, once we got home we spent $40 on grocery essentials and H spent $45 on Mario Cart 3D World.  It's a good thing he's cute :)

    2.  I got a 3% raise at my "real job," but have been officially laid off from my Sunday School teaching job.  I'm told they are offering us a severance of some sort, but I'll believe it when I see it.  This will slow down our travel savings rate, but I'm looking at other places to make cuts and make up the difference.  I also may pick up more classes at my dive teaching job.  My travel bug has been seriously reignited by the trip!  On payday tomorrow I'll be back to saving, $100 each to our short term expense and house funds.

    3.  I'm going to a girls' night at a friend's beach cottage this weekend, and am really excited to catch up with my friends.  On the MM side, we are going to get pre-approved and start throwing our hats in the ring for some of these bargain homes that have been flooding our market lately.  Eek!
  • 1. How MM was your weekend? Not too bad- groceries ($170), gas ($50). We spent a lot of time outside in our yard with the girls so we didn't spend much $.

    2. Any progress towards your goals? One of our CDs came due, so we cashed it out an put $5,000 ($2,500 each) into our Roth IRA accounts for 2014. The balance ($10,000) will start 2 529 plans for the girls. Our state has one of the best ones plus tax breaks so we decided it will be the best way to save for their college educations. We'll fund the balance of our Roth IRAs ($6,000) in October when another CD comes up. Feels awesome to put the $ sitting in CDs earning nothing to an actual goal and earning good returns.

    3. Any plans for June? (can be MMR or NMMR) We have a wedding, Father's Day Brunch, Block party for our neighborhood, and DH finishes up school at the end of the month. DD#2 will also move from our room (we have a sitting area that her crib is in) to DD#1's room- should be exciting. Our house has 2 bedrooms upstairs, 2 bedrooms downstairs, so for now, this is our only option. Luckily, the 2 upstairs bedrooms are very large, so it should be nice for them to share for some time. They're both looking forward to it.

  • @ashleyjesse1112 Congratulations!

@hoffse My H was the same way the first time we put together a baby budget.  I tried explaining to him that there were only 3-4 items we would buy new.  The rest could be used, and a lot of it wasn't necessary.  He still asks lots of questions like, "will we need one of these?  What does this do?" every time we go to a baby store.  Poor guys, they get so overwhelmed.

    1. How MM was your weekend? Not bad at all.  $1.50 at Redbox, $30 on groceries, $50 on stuff for the next house project, and $65 on gas.
Everything was budgeted, and we came in under budget.
    2. Any progress towards your goals?  Still have my SUV listed for sale, and bumped the price down another $500.  If it hasn't sold by the middle of this month then we will take it off and start back up with our debt snowball and just keep it.
    3. Any plans for June? (can be MMR or NMMR) H is going on the Hot Rod Power Tour that is coming through our area.  So that will be $300 for his gas and 1 night at a hotel.
Other than that, we're going to put up and fill the pool, then I'm hoping to have some nice relaxing weekends in it.
Will also start training for my 2nd half marathon of the year next week. :-)

  • 1. How MM was your weekend? Not that good, went over grocery budget by $20, did a meat run at a local butcher shop, $105, hair cut and oil change: $60 finally $50 on alcohol because I got fed up with doctors.

    2. Any progress towards your goals? Payday was Friday so over the next week I have automatic money going into various accounts.

    3. Any plans for June? (can be MMR or NMMR) We only have one free weekend this month so far which may get filled since it is Father's day weekend.
  • 1. How MM was your weekend?
Um not bad, I did a little grocery shopping is all. although i ordered DH's anniversay gift and totally forgot to enter the coupon code. it was only 3 dollars but still annoying.

    2. Any progress towards your goals?
Finalized our may budget and came out 40 ahead... so with the income from his 2nd job our car payment is 1,155 for may. Which is good concidering i didnt think we'd even break 1k this month.

    3. Any plans for June?
My husband and I celebrate our 1st anniversary on the 8th! :) We are going to myrtle beach for the weekend so i'm really excited about that. I'm not thrilled about spending the money but we really need to get away and not worry about this for a while. Although knowing me i probably still will. i don't know how to not think about money anymore. Its a curse really.

Pretty good. Just spent money on lunch and stuff to go to the pool. :)

    2. Any progress towards your goals?
Since the end of the month was last week we paid an extra $560 towards the house. :)

    3. Any plans for June? (can be MMR or NMMR)
No plans but both DH and I have vowed not to buy lunches during the week for the whole month of June. We will take food from home and cook more. We will go to the grocery store for sandwich meat, etc. but not actually buying lunches out.
