What did you read in MAY?
What did you read in May? How was it? How many books for the year so far?
Re: What did you read in MAY?
Side Effects May Vary - Julie Murphy
More Than Music - Elizabeth Briggs
The Outsiders - S.E. Hinton
I'm at 23/52, so I'm right on track.
Sybil- Flora Rheta Schreiber 4.5 stars
The Atlantis Plague- A.G. Riddle 4 stars
And Then There Were None- Agatha Christie 4 stars
The Attachments- Rainbow Rowell 4 stars
This puts me at 34 books for the year. My original goal was 40 but I bumped it up to 52. I'm still ahead of schedule.
Starters by Lissa Price: 4 stars
Glitch by Heather Anastasiu: 2 stars
The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold: 3 stars
The Devil Wears Prada by Laurent Weisberger: 2 stars
Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen: 4 stars
That's 26 of 52 and 5 ahead of schedule.
“Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?"
"That depends a good deal on where you want to get to."
"I don't much care where –"
"Then it doesn't matter which way you go.”
― Lewis Carroll, Alice in Wonderland
The Sense of an Ending, Julian Barnes - 3*
Flat-Out Love, Jessica Park - 4*
The Westing Game, Ellen Raskin - 3*
Calculating God, Robert J. Sawyer - 5*
And She Was, Allison Gaylin - 4*
That puts me at 37 for the year. I set a low goal of 40 for this year, after not meeting last year's goal and knowing how busy I'd be. But I've been listening to audio books while I work out, and that has made all the difference (if it weren't for audiobooks I'd only have 12 books read). I'm going to bump up my goal to 52.

I've read 26 for the year. I didn't have a real goal, but was hoping to just read more than last year's 30. Looks like that's going to happen easily.
Sugar & Spice
Something Blue by Emily Griffin 4 stars
Crossed by Allie Connie 2 stars
The Wolf of Wall Street by Jordan Belfort 2 stars
Winter's Bone by Daniel Woodrell 3 stars
17/52 which puts me 4 behind.

I have read 28 out of 55 books so far (6 books ahead of schedule). I put my goal lower this year because I can't spend as much time reading since I have other projects that need to get done, but it looks like I may have to up the goal anyway.

"People talk about escapism as if it's a bad thing... Once you've escaped, once you come back, the world is not the same as when you left it. You come back to it with skills, weapons, knowledge you didn't have before. Then you are better equipped to deal with your current reality."
