GTKY: Jobs

What was the 1st job you ever had? How long did you work there?

Re: GTKY: Jobs

  • My first job was when I was 13 or 14 (it was under the table) and it was at a one hour photo place. I worked there through high school.

My first "real" job was at Stop & Shop. I was the first 15 year old they hired at my local store. I worked there on and off through college.

  • I started babysitting when I was around 13 and did that on and off and then full time starting the summer before my senior year.

My first real job was at a law firm, I am still working there now, when I was 17. I started as a scanner and did various other jobs around the office. I am now  a supervisor.

  • My first job was babysitting and of coursethe job I have now. My current job has been off and on since I was like 12.

My first "real" job away from my parents business is when I worked retail at Dick's Sporting Goods. I did that right out of high school in college for about 6 months. It wasn't for me and I had a hard time managing it with my school work.
  • My first job was teaching swimming lessons, and later lifeguarding when I was old enough.  I worked at the pool from ages 13-22, and sometimes wish I could still go back and teach 1 class a week or something :)

  • I was the neighborhood babysitter, but I lost a lot of clients when I was unavailable and my mom said my sister could do it instead. She was so bad, refused to change diapers, the kids would be running around in their underwear at 11pm while my sister was sleeping when the parents came home. I had to beg my mom to stop referring people to my sister when I was unavailable. I would say, "PLEASE, just tell them no!"

My first taxed job was a tumbling coach at my cheerleading gym. I also did private lessons, and taught national summer camps. By the time I graduated high school, I had a kickass resume for cheerleading. Promising career, I know.
