Need happy thoughts (PR...kinda...sorta)

I don't know if anyone remembers but a few weeks ago I made a post about some mid-cycle spotting I was having. After the possibility of it maybe being ovulation was suggested, I decided to go ahead and start using OPKs again for the remainder of this cycle. I didn't get a positive that week, but on CD27 I got my first ever positive OPK! I hadn't been temping so I can't be sure of the exact date in which I ovulated but I think I am somewhere between 10-12 DPO. Obviously, I know I can't be 100% sure I ovulated but I am feeling very optimistic that I did.

Anyways, for the past 5 or so days, I have been having slight cramping on and off, my face is acne city, the sides of my boobs are sore, and I am really tired all the time. Tests I have taken so far have been negative, of course. But then earlier tonight, when I went to the restroom, I had some pale pink discharge on the TP (TMI...I know...Sorry!) I am hoping that it was implantation bleeding and not the beginning of my period.

This weekend is my one year wedding anniversary. If I could tell my husband that we are finally pregnant this weekend, it would pretty much be the most amazing thing in the world! So if y'all could please send happy thoughts my way, I would appreciate it sooo very much! Thank you!

  • Thank you everyone but I spoke too soon. My body is a fucking jerk. I started my period about 20 minutes ago. It is heavy and painful and I am fully hating life right now. Today sucks.

I know I shouldn't have gotten my hopes up before a BFP but I did and now all I want to do is cry. I was stupid and convinced myself that this was the month and that I would get that BFP any day. And now I feel empty and broken.

I only got myself that convinced once or twice while we were trying. The letdown when AF came was so incredibly hard to deal with, and I definitely indulged in an ugly cry or two. Sometimes you just need that mental release when things build up so high. I hope you can enjoy your anniversary weekend anyway.

Yeah...I definitely needed an ugly cry today. I ended up taking part of a personal day at work because I just couldn't deal with customers. And I definitely didn't want to have to explain to my coworkers why I looked like I was on the verge of crying all day. DH took part of a personal day too and spent the day with me so that helped. We're going to go out tomorrow night and celebrate our anniversary at our favorite restaurant.

  • First let me say I understand a dude posting in this thread can create some weirdness so please let me know if I should stay out of such places in the future.

I'm sorry for the emotional roller coaster you're enduring. It's great your DH was able to be supportive and spend the day with you. Not sure how involved he is, but I learned so much about charting and tempting and mucous while we TTC and got just as wrapped up in the anticipatory excitement and subsequent let down as my wife. That shit is crazy making and I'm glad your DH is sensitive and supportive enough to be in it with you.
  • I'm so sorry. :(

Obviously I can only speak for myself, but I don't mind you commenting here at all. :)

As for DH, he is in pretty deep too. While he doesn't necessarily know everything about charting and mucus and all that, he definitely gets just as excited or disappointed in the results as I do. I honestly don't think I would be strong enough to deal with it all if I didn't have such a supportive and understanding DH.
