Trying to get things moving...I'm tired and I don't really want to work!
Re: Thursday Randoms
I want this week to end. Steve's worked 12+ hours every day the last two work weeks, plus time on the weekend, and the children are driving me crazy.
I kept Jackson home from his field trip today because of bad behavior, and no matter what we say/do he continues with the problem behavior. I'm at the end of my rope, and having him here while I work at home isn't helping.
I have garden care class tonight for the school, and I'm working at the Fun Fair tomorrow night.
Thank God my parents are heading to the lake with us this weekeend. I need a bit of a break from solo parenting the kids.
I-)
I paid our last month's rent on this house last Friday and paid it the same way I do every month - cashiers check dropped off at our local realtor's office.
I get an email today stating that they never received it. The "landlord" (aka - realtor who works for this leasing company) emails me asking about it - she proceeded to go back and forth with me on email about the issue, with one word answers and now I have to pay to stop a cashiers check, have a new one issued (all has to be done in the bank branch) and pay for the stop fee (which the landlord will reimburse though). Funny how this should happen on our last month.
This same landlord I only met for the first time when she came to put the lockbox on the house - and that's only because I heard her and chased her to introduce myself. She's very standoffish. And she has overpriced the house now, so we've had more than 16 showing in the past month, about 5 no-shows, and in an economy where rentals and sales go really, really fast, she's not getting the hint that lowering the rent even $25/mo will get it leased.
So now, on my way to having two wisom teeth removed tomorrow morning, I have to drop off the new rent check. I'm not happy.
I'm also venting here bc I'm lonely working from home and not seeing the DH much (oppostie shifts) - so I'll talk to anyone who will listen!
My three sons!
It's Friday now, so I can't really contribute to the Thursday randomness of this post (I was off yesterday) but I would like to chime in to say that I'm hiring for a personal assistant...if anyone is interested, please submit your resume directly to me as soon as possible. It would be a pro bono position.

I know everyone goes through this so just indulge me while I whine for a minute....the scheduling of who is going to watch Jake until summer camp starts and then after summer camp ends and there's a 2 week gap before school starts back up is giving me a serious case of anxiety. We covered today and the next week, but I haven't even looked at the 2 weeks in August yet. Blah! Why can't camps coincide completely with the school year??
On a related note, I now have a 1st grader. HOLD ME.
Jake - 1.15.08
Liam - 5.17.11
Luckily the camp does daycare after it's over, so at least I don't have to worry about that time.
Jake - 1.15.08
Liam - 5.17.11
The extra laundry from summer camp is already annoying and H hasn't even started yet...
Meghan, I can only imagine the stress you are going through. My whole team had to have a hands-on mtg last week to address all of the changes going on overall and to calm nerves by talking "restructure" versus "displacement". Sadly, my team's work is really slooooowwww right now, so we got warnings of "look busy, take your mandatory classes and then some" speech.
Sigh - I hope this week goes better for you!
