WIJFLT: Noggin by John Corey Whaley
I can't rave enough about this book, guys. With all of the TFIOS furor going on, this one deserves to be read along with it. It's about a boy who has cancer and is dying, but he freezes his head. Five years later science is able to reattach his head to a cancer free body and he's brought back to life, but everyone he knew has moved on without him. There are some heartbreaking flashback scenes to when he was sick, but it's also super funny and just brilliantly done.

"People talk about escapism as if it's a bad thing... Once you've escaped, once you come back, the world is not the same as when you left it. You come back to it with skills, weapons, knowledge you didn't have before. Then you are better equipped to deal with your current reality."
