Central...when it gets above 70 usually.  I can't stand sleeping when I'm all sweaty.  I would just open the windows and use AC less but my allergies are too annoying.  I should invest in some fans...

  • We have central air. H and I have really bad allergies, so having windows open is not an option for us. In the past we've tried using fans, but I always wake up with a stiff neck when we do.

  • we've got central air.  We used it a bit last year when the house was almost 30 C but because we have vaulted ceilings and old windows it took a long time for the house to cool down.  I would only turn it on if I was gone for the day so my cat wouldn't get too hot (windows stay closed when I'm out because we live in a bungalow).

  • We have central air.  I can't live without air conditioning!  It gets turned on when it starts getting around 70-75.

  • Central at our old house but we only use it a handful of times. At our new house we are moving into this weekend, there is no air, or window units, but we get beach breeze so it's not too bad 99% of the year.

  • Central went on basically as soon as the snow melted this year.  It went from 40 to 80 overnight.  Oh Minnesota...
  • Central air. It is on whenever it is humid/rainy/above 78 during the day. It has been on for the last week or so because of how hot and then rainy/humid it's been. I'd love to get a few more days before the heat of summer that we could shut it off, but I doubt we will.

  • Central air, and we run it year round.  We live in South Louisiana.  It's hot hot hot and humid down here!  I've worn shorts on Christmas/New Year's on more than one occasion.

  • We pretty much switch from heat to air. We have central air. I get hot super, super easy. We have the Nest thermostat so when we aren't home, it's set to keep it cooled to 80 so it doesn't get too hot. When we're home it's set to 72 - 74 usually. We turn it on once it's over 70 out.

  • Central ac. We switch when it's too hot at night to sleep. Usually the downstairs is fine, it's the bedrooms. We already have a ceiling fan and reg fan. We like the artic when we sleep (the fans are on all year round).

My fans are on year round, too!! I was so thrilled when we got to put a ceiling fan in our bedroom. We used to have to do a stand fan. Now it's easy. Sadly, H complains a lot. haha. I want the fan on all the time and will be sleeping naked with no sheets, and he's bundled under all sorts of blankets....oops!

    Beach breeze?! Ahhh

Lol I debated typing that! It's not on the water, but much closer than our current town, so it does have an impact on the temp which I'm very much looking forward to! We are blessed and I know it. It sure is effin expensive though!

  • The most we have in our house are those big box style fans. Since we're tucked into the woods, we can't have windows open (too many outside bugs wanting to come in)

All the house really has is an old thermostat that controls the heat. Right now, it basically lives at the lowest setting possible.

Jeff likes white noise so he doesn't complain. I like to bundle up so I like the cold.

  • We have 1 window AC for the entire apartment.  We want central AC in the new house, but we can't afford to install it.  Hopefully we can in the next few years.  Before H moved in, I would put the AC in around Memorial Day and not turn it on until it was about 90 degrees.  H gets hot easily and I am hot this year because of the pregnancy, so we put it in last week and it's been on pretty much every day since.  There's been a few 60 degree nights and I've still had it on.
  • We have central air. I'm always cold, so it doesn't get turned on until it's over 80 outside. We also keep the AC at 78 during the day and 76 in the evenings. Our unit has a dehumidifier so it helps keep the house cool anytime it's running.

  • We have central air but we rarely turn it on. I didn't grow up with AC but H did. Last year we only turned it on one days it was super hot. Nights are very cool here so I'm good with just a window fan. I'm sure we will use it more this summer after baby gets here.
