Midwest Nestie GTG

Let's start planning this!  Where is everyone at approximately so we can find a central location or if that doesn't 100% matter to you - where would you like to meet up?

  • I'm in the Cincinnati area, and would prefer to go somewhere for a day trip, so somewhere within a couple hours drive. I could easily do Indy or Columbus.

I'm not a super-frequent poster, but I read this board everyday.  I'm in the Columbus area and would be happy to meet up with some Midwestern Nesties!  Just to throw out a suggestion... there is an AMAZING book store called The Book Loft in the German Village part of Columbus that you girls would love. 32 rooms of books - it's like a maze.  And what do you know, there's a fabulous pastry shop just down the street? :)

     Or Chicago, I love Chicago.

I feel the same way about a day trip but I'm in Chicago so...

  • I'm in Grand Rapids, MI. Chicago is about 3 hours from me. Columbus is 5. Indy is just over 4. I could theoretically do any of them, but Chicago would be easiest as a day trip for me.

  • I'm in Northeast Ohio.

The Book Loft really is so amazing that it's worth traveling to. I lived in C-bus for a long time and I miss it dearly.

Chicago is 5.5 hours away, Columbus is 2 and Indy is 4.5. I am kind of a timid driver and would honestly be a little nervous to drive into Chicago by myself, but maybe I'd just have to get over it ;)

I know, right? My schedule is quite a bit more flexible than it used to be so maybe we can make this happen over the summer.

  • I have no real preference. With Chicago I could make a weekend of it to also visit other friends but Columbus is much closer to me. I'm in northwest Ohio.

  • I'm likely out for October as I'm due Oct 12 and Oct 4 is BIL's wedding. If October works best for everyone else, though, don't let me be the party pooper.

We live within driving distance to Chicago, but we've taken a train into Chicago from northern Indiana before. One of these stations might be on your way: http://www.nictd.com/riding-the-train/maps-stations/station-locations

I am out of town for all the weekends in October other than the first weekend. If October is what works for everyone though that's cool.

  • I'm north of mrsvedo by less than an hour. Chicago or Indy are closest. October is fine, or sometime sooner.
