I always enjoy hearing your stories of other weddings, so here's mine.
One of my mom's best/longest friends' daughters is getting married. In this group, there have been many of us kids who have already had weddings. With one exception, the ladies and their husbands have all been invited to each wedding.
The exception (10 years ago) was at a venue that only held 50 people, so only the ladies were invited, making it a girls weekend. My father was also invited, because we grew up very close with that one particular family, but he was the only spouse.
At this wedding, no limitations on space, but they invited all the ladies, and 4/6 of the husbands. Umm. Ok? So my dad doesn't make the cut, as well as the exception brides father.
The wedding is about a 7 hour drive away. In general- etiquette says to invite couples as couples, right? Especially if travel time is required, right? Especially if you are inviting 4 of the 6 from that group, right?
Is it odd or am I being too strict with etiquette?
