Birthday / Anniversary Planning

My birthday is combining up and so are all our anniversaries!

Well H and I finally decided we would spend a long weekend in Austin.

Well I'm turning 30 and I haven't had a birthday party with friends or family in ages and that's ok. Now the 2nd is a Thursday and that's not the best time to have a party. Plus we have other plans that day. And Friday we have plans then too. Saturday the 4th would honestly be the best day to celebrate.

Now I know it's bad etiquette to host your own party but I really want to celebrate with everyone. H and I would be good hosts (aka pay for everything).

So my questions are:
Is it really bad to plan my own party?

Can DH be considered the host even tho I do most of the work?

When sending out invitations, when is the earliest I should send them out?

On another note anyone thought of what they will be doing for their 3rd anniversary?

Re: Birthday / Anniversary Planning

  • I don't think it's bad to throw your own party, especially if you're going to pay for everything! DH and I have back-to-back birthdays, so it's impossible for us to host a birthday party and not be throwing it ourselves as they're always combined.

We're going to the Maritimes in October! I'm very excited to get away for two weeks! We don't leave until the 11th (our anniversary is on the 8th), but we'll wait and celebrate while we're there.
  • We're doing absolutely nothing for our 3rd anniversary.   We're saving $$ to hopefully go on a vacation in February/March of this coming year. :)

  • No big plans here for our anniversary. I know we're planning a trip down to the beach sometime in October with my family. I'll still be on maternity leave, so DH knows I'm up for anything :)

  • We're doing the BVI in August with my family, so I don't think we're going anywhere for our anniversary. Maybe we could do a night at the beach where we honeymooned (45 minutes away).
