You guys.

Let me know what you're doing! I need some updates. Let's not lose touch!

I had a decent weekend. H and I joined a new gym and it is massive and awesome. Outdoor pool that sells booze. Feels like such a reward after a workout. We had to buy a new lawn mower yesterday so that was no fun.

Other than that, just same old. Anybody taking any trips this summer? Doing anything else fun?

Re: You guys.

  • Friday we rented a truck to move one of our beds to Hs parents. They wanted a "new" and another guest bed. We were wanting to get rid of it anyways so it was perfect.

I was sick Friday. We left a little late to pick up the truck. Waited an hour to get the truck (we had a reservation) because of the people who got their before us. Took longer to load the bed and pack up the car and cats because H did most of it alone.

During our rest stop at 11:30ish. H locked the truck key in the truck. At 3am we made it to his parents.

We got up and I was feeling great (I have a fickle body). So we unloaded the bed and returned the truck. Moved the old bed. Rearranged the room and set up the "new" bed. The room looks worlds better and feels more like home because it's our bed.

We got ready for the pool party and BBQ. Family friends came and my family came. It was fun bd the weather couldn't of been any better. It was perfect all day.

Sunday we slept in. Snacked and talked with his parents. Talked money, talked baby, talked health, and other stuff. Then our friends came over to swim and BBQ. We headed home with a packed car around 6. I swear we can't leave his parents without them giving us food or things.

Cliff notes: weekend full of family, food, friends, drinking, moving, and fun.
  • A gym that serves booze? In a pool? That's awesome.

Today is my first day of summer vacation! Woooo!! I had to go in and hand in my laptop and keys. Tomorrow I have to stop in to sign my offer letter for the next school year. I'm glad I live right down the road.

I've got to make a bunch of doctor appointments I've been putting off and I'm hoping the foot doctor calls me back. I went for a follow-up x-ray and nothing showed up so now they think I damaged ligaments instead of bone??? Grr.
  • DH and I just got back last week from Charleston, which was amazing. I love that place - so much good food! And beach. What more could you want?

I'm thinking that was probably our last vacation this year. We've spent the last few days since getting back prepping the nursery and buying furniture. We also went to one of the UVA baseball games this weekend - Wahoowa we're going to Omaha!

@quirky that sucks that they messed up your original xray! That actually happened to DH - he went to an outpatient center and they took an Xray and told him he had a broken ankle in two places. When he followed up with an orthopedic specialist a week later, they said nope - just a bad ligament sprain. They said the outpatient center likes to do that sometimes so that people are more cautious and stay off it until they can see the ortho doc. Sounds crazy to me though - telling people things are broken when they aren't really!

  • Hi!  Let's see...nothing to exciting is going on in our lives right now.

I'm still working my part-time job in the evenings.  However, I have told them I don't want to work Saturdays, I only want to work about 10 hours/week, and I don't want to have any on-call shifts.  The store manager is awesome, and understands completely.  So I've been working an average of 1-2 days per week (5-9 hours).  It's pretty awesome.  It's roughly $200/month, so I definitely can't complain! :-)
I've also started back up playing softball more and more.  I missed it sooo much!  Before DH and I got together, I would play roughly 3 nights a week during the summer, but that fizzled out since he's not into softball.  I've always played on Mondays during the summer while we've been together, but that's been it.  Well, I'm back up to playing 3 nights a week now!  I love it, and It's so much fun!

Exciting news lately - I should be getting another promotion sometime here soon.  I'm thinking sometime in the next 6-9 months! :-)  So, that's definitely exciting.

Next weekend, we'll be taking a long weekend for DH's birthday and going down to the Ohio River and spending the weekend down there.  Who knows what all we'll do down there.  Only thing planned is going to a Cincinnati Red's game on DH's birthday.

Last bit of exciting news...DH and I are starting to plan a vacation for next February/March.  I believe it's going to be another family vacation with his family.  This time to an all-inclusive.  A couple years ago, we did a Western Caribbean cruise.  Last year, they did a Southern Caribbean cruise (but DH and I couldn't afford to go on that one).  This year, we're going to do an all-inclusive.  We're thinking Dominican Republic.  This will probably be our last big vacation for a while!

  • We are spending a few weekends a month at my ILs beach place.  It's a lot of work to travel with a baby so our summer travel plans are pretty much just that, except hopefully we'll take a quick trip to Boston to introduce my almost 96 year old grandfather to DS.

Otherwise life is just plugging along.  Still trying to get our house in order from the move last summer, but hopefully we'll get stuff finished up soon.

  • @Curls218‌ spending a few weekends at a beach house sounds so enjoyable.

@quirky75‌ all I can say is that's horribly frustrating to get misdiagnosed. Good luck.

@athlete010688‌ what good and fun and exciting news!
  • I got back last week from a business trip/girls weekend to Vancouver & Seattle. Business went well and the girls portion of the trip was a blast. We had a very packed itinerary, so we saw/did a lot in our few days. That also kept us from shopping too much! lol

DH and I are going away for a weekend in two weeks - part business trip, part family wedding, part couples getaway. It's great that my job incorporates travel, so I can combine personal trips with business and have the mileage, meals, etc. paid for. We'll be gone for 3 nights, with one of those nights spent camping. We've never camped together and I haven't camped in YEARS, so that should be interesting.

Our summer will be packed with weekends away, weddings and family gatherings.

  • Just had the kiddos 4th birthday which was fun but exhausting. My parents were in town for a week which was nice.

H finally heard back from a specialist about getting an appt for his back condition so we will be traveling to NYC for that in August. It's kind of scary bc he will most likely need spinal surgery and we really have no idea what to expect.

Work has been up and down. One of my coworkers is on the chopping block so that's always a weird situation, especially bc I know my boss wants to give me her job, he flat our told me that. He will be on vacation all of July though so that will be nice.

Have a grins trip planned for the last weekend in July to float the river. Definitely looking forward to that!
