Anxiety Attack

Tim and I decided that we would start TTC in July. Now that June is half over and Tim mentioned that in 2 weeks we'd be trying, I started to have a panic attack today. I know that I want to have kids with Tim but the reality of it all hit me and it scared the crap out of me. So, the more I started thinking about it the more I started to panic! Is this normal? I feel like it's not normal and then I panic more!! I just need someone to talk me off the ledge :(

Re: Anxiety Attack

  • H and I have decided to TTC in September, which I am excited about, but I am really nervous about it too! I love kids and having kids with H has been the dream, but at the same time it's really scary. It will change our lives in so many ways and it's such a big life change.

Were other ladies nervous/scared/freaked out before you TTC?

I'm glad I'm not the only one who has anxiety about the big change that comes with TTC!

  • I think everyone is excited but also slightly terrified about what changes a baby will bring to your life. It's obviously a huge change in your life, and it's important that you've really thought it out before you decide to TTC.  Don't worry, you're totally normal :)

Yes, yes, and yes. It's normal- at least for me. I think it would be a bit weird to not be anxious at all when thinking of such a big life change. Once I actually got pregnant, the anxiety went away.

  • Totally normal! I was that way up until the 1st trimester was over. My BP stayed high throughout my 1st tri and my doctor said it was normal with all the excitement and nerves. It's a big step and it's a big decision I would be worried if you were completely calm about it.
  • Totally normal!! My baby is a toddler now and I still freak out sometimes.

  • Very normal! It's life changing, and it's scary, fun, exciting, nerve-wracking. You'll probably feel the same way the last couple weeks of pregnancy, too! I questioned if I could handle giving birth, a newborn, etc.
It's the best thing that's ever happened to me.
