Tuesday Randoms!!

Any randoms, confessions, AW's, vents, whatever to share?!?!

Re: Tuesday Randoms!!

  • I was rear ended a few weeks ago and my van is in the shop getting fixed this week.  I am driving a rental, which I thought was no big deal until I started driving this morning and realized there was no rearview camera, bluetooth, XM radio, etc.  First world problems!

When I pulled into my parking garage, I also couldn't figure out how to wind down the window to insert my parking pass.  LOL

  • Oh geez Meghan - there's so much to worry about when driving as it is, that to feel discobobulated too....ugh!

We're officially living in our house - yay! - but there are still a couple of bins of bits and pieces at the rental that I need to bring over and I don't want to, bc I have to figure out where to put everything! The rental also needs a good cleaning... another thing I just don't want to do.

We're headed to Long Island this weekend for 4 days and I'm so excited to get away and to see all of my family. There just seems to be so much to do before then, though: I have an interview tomorrow, Gavin has VBS in the afternoons, more unpacking, figuring out clothes for the trip (and my interview), oh yeah - work...

My AW is that I counted about 20 limes on my lime bush last night - the end of July into August are shaping up to be really good ones! ;)

  • Meghan, too funny, I was going to post a first world problem that involves my van, too!

All of a sudden, the sliding doors won't open automatically.  Not with the key/button thing, not even when you lift up on the handle like they're supposed to do.  I have to actually PULL the doors open.  Unacceptable.  What's even more unacceptable is the fact that it's been like this for 3 days now and I have just been too lazy to dig up the manual and make sure it's not something that's an easy fix.

  • Dd has been having a rough time lately. Cranky and not doing a good job at school. I think she is just tired and worn out from sports.

But the topper to her behavior is that she has started having accidents again. I swear she goes through a phase of this every year. I seriously did not think I would have to deal with this at 6!! She started PTing at 2.5 so we have been dealing with this for so long. Ugh! They are little accidents because she is too busy to go potty but still...this is getting really old!

If it isn't automatically opening with either the remote OR by lifting the handle, you most likely need to go in for service. If it was just the remote, then I would say you need new batteries or a remote but since it doesn't work with either, you need to go in unfortunately.

  • We're at my in-law's this week and it's actually pretty nice. I love not having to cook and clean, and DS is getting worn out and sleeping a relative lot even for being in his pack n play. But it will be nice to go home ;-)

This made me think of another random....my ILs stayed with us for almost a week last week (they came out to see Jake play baseball, celebrate Liam's birthday and help us with watching Jake because his summer camp hadn't started yet)  they were here until last Thursday morning, then my mom took both kids for a night after that.

I think I'm going through help-withdrawal.  Is that a thing??  I was spoiled rotten for a week of having meals ready to go when I came home from work, laundry was always done, house was cleaned up....I really need to work on winning the lottery and hiring that personal assistant that I dream about....

LOL - When Rich brought the car home last night, he told me that it didn't have any bells and whistles.  I figured that, but then he said - "The doors don't even open up on their own."  I was all WHAT DO YOU MEAN????  Fortunately, the key thing just wasn't working and they do open up on their own.  Crisis averted!

  • The mailman is late and I am hungry. BUT I go to the bank on my lunch break and no mail, means I haven't done my deposit yet.

I slacked and need to think of a 40th wedding gift for my parents for Saturday. And my mom's 60th birthday is next week, and I need to figure out a gift for my dad's birthday next week too. I did find something and may order it even though it will not be here on time.

same thing happened to me - we have an odyssey & I had the lock on (which I had no idea it had!) - it was a weird button/switch below the dash to the left of the steering wheel - no label just a red switch thing.  Hit it and viola'! they worked again!

ooooh, I will have to look for this.  When my in laws were visiting, I was driving their car and left them in the van so they could take the boys places...my FIL said he had trouble finding the gas latch, so maybe he hit something in that area that locked the doors.  Ooooh, I hope that's it, I'm going to check tonight.
