Paint for my playroom: let's discuss
Woohoo, we are having someone give us an estimate to finally paint the paneling in our playroom!! Now I just need to figure out colors. The pictures I'll post are old, but it will at least give you an idea of colors. The room is rectangular, one wall is dark red brick. the opposite wall is the paneling that also has a fireplace in the middle and built in shelves on the other side (we would paint the shelves, too)

The 2 smaller walls are currently white; one has a window, the other has double doors (the doors are a beige color)

Thoughts? Continue the white that's already on the 2 walls, or is that too much??
Re: Paint for my playroom: let's discuss
I would paint the paneling and the doors white. And then introduce some color for the two white walls. A blue/green combo like this would brighten it up.

A turquoise color would also look nice with the red brick.
I really need HGTV to just come to my house and make these decisions for me. You know, for free.

So the trim in the rest of the house is white, haha. the trim around the bottom of the walls, I mean. The playroom is the only room with wood trim. The window ledges/edges in the house are all the same wood color.
lala- I prefer to keep it neutral because it's taken us almost 4 years to get around to painting this, I don't want to have to repaint again in a few years when it's (hopefully) not being used as a playroom anymore! It's the room right off of our kitchen, and leads out to our patio so it sees a lot of traffic.

No, sorry. see the little bit of window ledge that's showing in that first picture? that's all of the windows in the house. Some type of dark wood. Every other room in the house has white painted baseboards, the playroom has wooden baseboards.

Also you can fill the ridges in the paneling to get a nice smooth look. That might be costly though. I have no idea what that might cost because I always do all the prepping and painting in our house (well sans the ceilings which my tall husband does).
