WIJFR: Landline by Rainbow Rowell (NS)
A friend of mine went to BEA and was nice enough to send me an ARC of this book.
Holy crap, you guys. This book completely wrecked me. I LOVED it. I'm going to copy my GR review below.
I cried my way through this book. When I finished reading it, in bed, at around midnight, I woke up my husband and sobbed and hiccuped in his arms for 15 solid minutes while he patted my hair and probably wondered whether I had finally, completely, lost it. This book is not even sad, people. It's just so wonderful, and awful, and beautiful, and TRUE. This book gets marriage, and parenting, and careers, and family. And second, third, or even hundreds of chances. Rainbow Rowell has a gift for writing REAL people. I really, really connected with Landline - this one might just be my favorite of hers yet.
It comes out July 8th. I know a lot of you are already planning on reading it. I don't think you'll be disappointed!!

"People talk about escapism as if it's a bad thing... Once you've escaped, once you come back, the world is not the same as when you left it. You come back to it with skills, weapons, knowledge you didn't have before. Then you are better equipped to deal with your current reality."
