Re: Getting Healthy Check In!

  • 1) What are your fitness goals? Lose 40, then 70, then 100.

    2) How has your progress been this week? So frustrating, I worked out so much and only lost one fucking pound.

    3) What is your "plan" (diet, workout regime, etc)? Body by Vi plan/exercise.

    4) Best part of your week? Made it to 50 minutes of continuous cardio via intervals (treadmill, bike, back to treadmill).

    5) Worst part of your week? I got frustrated by my one pound loss and binged on Friday night and didn't eat so great on Saturday, either. This is my first setback/mess up and it's really leaving me frustrated and down. Ugh.

QOTW: Do you do a cheat meal/cheat day? When and what do you splurge your calories on? I have been doing kind of cheat days on Saturdays or Sundays but I think I might not for awhile because it can lead me to "Sure, why not?" mindset that can last all weekend which I'm sure is no good for the loss.

    1) What are your fitness goals? Same - lose 60 pounds by February

    2) How has your progress been this week? It wasn't a great week. We had three dinners out and I had one lunch out. So, I only lost 1 lb, but I did hit the 30lb mark!

    3) What is your "plan" (diet, workout regime, etc)? Body by Vi shakes for breakfast and lunch and healthy dinner.

    4) Best part of your week? The weather has been fantastic!

    5) Worst part of your week? I don't get along well with my new supervisor at work and it's stressing me out.  I love my job and don't want to leave, but I don't know if I can work with her in the long term.

QOTW: Do you do a cheat meal/cheat day? When and what do you splurge your calories on? Sunday is cheat day.  We try not to go too overboard. We always have toast from our favourite artisan bakery for breakfast, something for lunch while we're out doing errands and then something fun for dinner.

Fitness goals: get in shape and run a 5k.

Progress: terrible. I really fell off the bandwagon last week. H was off work and we went out to eat a lot and had ice cream and I went directly home to be with him instead of going for a run.

    Plan: mfp and c25k

Best part of week: it was Bens first birthday party, which was so much fun. Also, this was too funny.

Worst part of week: I got so sick to my stomach yesterday.

Qotw: I don't cheat. I just try to keep my calories within 1450 everyday.

  • Good job @nfp147 !!

    1) What are your fitness goals? Lose 10-15 lbs but mainly gain more strength and tone.

    2) How has your progress been this week? I worked out a lot this week, this weekend I was able to squeeze in 2 walks, but nothing major. Since I was on a mini vacation I didn't eat great and I gained 2 lbs to prove it... So I'm super frustrated and disappointed in myself.

    3) What is your "plan" (diet, workout regime, etc)? I want to continue working out but push myself harder. If I have to do it alone then I will. Diet I am trying very hard to say no to snack foods. I have 3 weeks to lose around 5 lbs that's my main goal right now.

    4) Best part of your week? Best part of the week is when I took the dog for a jog/walk with me. I managed to jog about 2 miles(mile at a time) and walked 1.5. I haven't been able to jog more than a couple hundred feet in a long time.

    5) Worst part of your week? Seeing my weight last night...

QOTW: Do you do a cheat meal/cheat day? When and what do you splurge your calories on?
If I cheat it will be for ice cream

  • 1. My goal is to lose 70 or more pounds, I'm half way there. 2. I walked almost every day but I'm still stuck at this plateau 3. My plan is walking and tracking on my fitness pal, I mostly avoid dairy and soy as well 4. Best part of the week was that all week I was able to walk with my DH in the morning 5. Worst part was still being stuck on this plateau QOTW we try to avoid cheat days, but they happen sometimes we just remind ourselves it can't become the norm

@amandaf6383, 1 pound is amazing.  I know that we always want to see big numbers each week, but 1 pound is still a loss, 1 pound lost isn't 1 pound gained, and 1 pound lost is better than staying the same.

I've seen that before - I spent a good part of the day looking up "weightloss motivation quotes" on Pinterest. lol. I just wish time could go back like a montage in a Reese Witherspoon movie!

    1. At this point I think my goal needs to be just having some freaking consistency with my diet and exercise. 2. Really no progress. 3. Right now the plan is to do as much home cooking as possible. 4. Best part of the week was going camping, a little hiking. 5. The low point of my week involved a box of zebra cakes. QOTW: I cheat eat all the freaking time. 4.

  • 1) What are your fitness goals? Lose 86lbs.

    2) How has your progress been this week? Ugh...I have totally lost my motivation. I need to get back on track this week. Food has been decent but exercise has been non-existent.

    3) What is your "plan" (diet, workout regime, etc)? Track food on MFP and cardio.

    4) Best part of your week? I got to see my family this weekend!

    5) Worst part of your week? Missed my weigh-in day again.

QOTW: Do you do a cheat meal/cheat day? When and what do you splurge your calories on? I don't really have a cheat day or meal. I just try my best to stay within the calorie goal MFP has me at. I don't deny myself treats. I just make sure I am smart about it.

Motivation can be so hard. Most days I have no motivation at all but force myself to do it anyway. I try to envision the goal in my head. That doesn't ALWAYS help but sometimes it does.

  • 1) What are your fitness goals?
to lose weight and get in shape for potential pregnancy

    2) How has your progress been this week?
I maintained the weight I lost, which is 10 pounds as of June 1.  :)
I ate like crap on Saturday but OK on sunday. I've been doing OK on my water, not quite reaching my goal, but definitely making 3Litres/day which is much better than before. I haven't had coffee in more than a week, and I've made it to the gym once so far (yesterday)

    3) What is your "plan" (diet, workout regime, etc)?
watching portion sizes, eating healthier meals, more fruit, more veg, more water, less coffee (none), less soda (none), and cutting back on the booze (only was drinking 1 night /wk anyway, but would rather put calories to food!)
I'm not really counting calories either, just trying to eat less processed stuff and more real food.
    4) Best part of your week?
swimming yesterday in between work and our staff meeting, not eating any pizza at the staff meeting since I had my protein shake from the gym.

    5) Worst part of your week?
the box of chocolates I inhaled after work today! (10 chocolates, about 700 calories! but it cheered me up and I am totally blaming AF/ PMS!)

QOTW: Do you do a cheat meal/cheat day? When and what do you splurge your calories on?
No cheat days. I'm not that strict on myself because then I would never stick to anything and splurge on crap all the time. I try to just not keep crap in the house. My hubby has his own area where he keeps his junk food (out of sight) so I don't get into it. I keep fresh fruit and veggies on hand, and if I want a snack I default to that. I won't deny myself a treat if I want it, but I am trying to keep an eye on portion sizes and ask myself if I really want it or not. I did have a moment of weakness tonight when I stopped at a Hallmark store to buy a birthday card for a friend tonight and I knew I was still going to be stuck in traffic for a while and hadn't eaten since my 10am lunch break, I inhaled the box of chocolates before I even got home. but I can't undo it, and I'm going to make healthier choices tonight.

Thanks! I think my biggest problem is that I got away from my schedule. I need to get back into working out right after work. That seems to work best for me!

  • ) What are your fitness goals? Lose another 20 pounds

    2) How has your progress been this week? Meh.  I've been maintaining, but I've still got another 10 lbs to lose to get back to pre-IVF#2 weight.

    3) What is your "plan" (diet, workout regime, etc)? I work out with a trainer twice a week.  Last week, I was at the gym three more times last week.

    4) Best part of your week? Getting to see my nephew, who I haven't been allowed to see because of stupid family drama, this morning.  He was super excited to wake me up and it was the best alarm clock I could have had!

    5) Worst part of your week? Another uncle passed away on Friday. That makes three uncles in 8 months. I'm over family funerals for a bit.
